Entering the Smart Lawn Mower Robot Space

Beatbot, a global premium pool-cleaning robot brand, has closed a new funding round exceeding RMB 1 billion, bringing its total raised across three rounds to RMB 1.5 billion. The round drew top-tier industrial and dollar-denominated investors, led by new backer Meituan Longzhu, with existing investors including Monolith also increasing their stakes.

Innovation and Brand, Driving in Tandem

Building the World's Leading Premium Pool Robot Brand

Less than two years after its public launch in early 2024, Beatbot has won recognition from consumers across European and American markets — capturing 85% market share in the above-$1,400 price segment in its first year.

This year, with its second-generation product, Beatbot has climbed further to over 90% share of the ultra-premium market, rising rapidly from startup to the number-one brand in the global premium pool-cleaning robot segment.

Pool-cleaning robots have long suffered from low cleaning coverage, poor navigation, and cumbersome user experiences. From day one, Beatbot chose the hardest path: rejecting technological patchwork and committing to full-stack independent R&D.

Today, technical staff account for over 60% of the team, and R&D investment reaches 20% of total revenue. The company has accumulated more than 260 patents, over 150 of which are invention patents.

Beatbot pioneered core underlying technologies including brushless water pumps that balance cleaning efficiency and durability, AUV spatial movement, sonar-laser SLAM, and proprietary AI mapping algorithms — forming a deep technical moat that is difficult to replicate and the bedrock of its premium brand positioning.

The "abundant fruit" of this massive investment in technological innovation reflects not only the strength of the founding team, led by engineer-turned-founder Shengle Wang, but also its unwavering determination to "drive brand development through innovation."

User-Centric, Product-First

Defining New Industry Standards

Beatbot deeply understands that technology must translate into value users can perceive. With the goal of "creating experiences that exceed user expectations through disruptive innovation," the company integrates breakthrough innovations into refined product experiences.

Before Beatbot, cordless pool-cleaning robots fell into two categories — those focused solely on surface cleaning, and those capable of covering the pool floor, walls, and waterline.

Beatbot's first-generation robot, the AquaSense Pro, introduced a patented buoyancy chamber system and submarine-inspired propulsion technology enabling automatic surfacing and diving. It doesn't just clean the floor, scrub walls and waterlines, but also gracefully skims leaves from the surface — achieving full-coverage, three-dimensional operation across the entire pool for the first time.

The product also features an automatic clarifier dispensing system that purifies water while cleaning. Upon completing its task, the robot autonomously returns and docks at the water's edge. Users simply press one button to start; when the robot surfaces after finishing, the app notifies them to retrieve it from the poolside — effortless from start to finish.

Beatbot's 2025 second-generation AquaSense 2 series once again leads the industry — debuting an AI camera with multi-sensor fusion advanced vision technology, paired with proprietary AI algorithms that precisely plan optimal cleaning paths while boosting in-app map visualization success rates to 90%.

It even features AI debris recognition on the pool floor, identifying leaves and fruit for targeted cleaning, directly advancing the industry's intelligence to the next level.

Following minimalist aesthetic principles, the entire AquaSense 2 line adopts fluid unibody design and premium materials and techniques (such as automotive-grade IMR film coating), serving not just as durable tools but as sophisticated tech accessories that accentuate backyard spaces — combining utility with aesthetic value.

Differentiation and Globalization Strategy

Precisely Anchoring Premium Positioning

Beatbot was born global. The team started with European and American markets, going head-to-head with established international giants in the most demanding arenas for quality, technology, and brand.

Founder Shengle Wang insisted on entering at a premium price point four to five times the industry average, rather than opening with cutthroat low-price competition.

On channels and marketing, Beatbot pursues a dual online-offline approach paired with clear premium brand strategy. Online, it entered through its direct-to-consumer site and Amazon, consistently ranking first in the premium segment.

Offline, it has successfully entered over 2,000 retail stores globally, covering multiple key accounts and pool-specialty channels across the US, Europe, and Australia; it has also launched pop-ups in premium shopping districts in key markets to enhance engagement with target consumers and fully convey the premium brand and product experience.

Beyond this, Beatbot has pursued diversified collaborations with international top-tier athletes and celebrities such as Serena Williams, accelerating its global brand building.

Deepening the Core Pool-Cleaning Track

Launching Strategic Expansion Into New Categories

This new funding will focus on accelerating R&D iteration for next-generation smart products, further widening the technical moat; expanding global market channels and sales networks while strengthening localized operations; continuing to attract top global talent; and reinforcing brand influence.

At the same time, Beatbot officially announces its entry into the smart lawn-mowing robot category, launching strategic expansion into a new track.

As founder Shengle Wang puts it: "This is a much larger market, but Beatbot wants to take a more disciplined and more difficult path. We won't get pulled into homogeneous competition. Instead, we'll focus on specific niche scenarios and user needs, building a unique position through differentiated strategy and technological innovation."

Looking ahead, Beatbot will use this as a new starting point — not only continuing to solidify its leadership in pool-cleaning robots, but also systematically applying the successful experience accumulated in pool scenarios to blaze new trails with innovation, reshaping the future landscape of smart yard robots.
