Siyuan and Zhiyuan, Cultivating the Ecosystem Together | Celebrating Shanghai Jiao Tong University's 127th Anniversary, Building a Sci-Tech Innovation Ecosystem Together
Accelerating the rapid development of China's tech industry

➤➤➤ Last weekend, in the full bloom of spring, Shanghai Jiao Tong University celebrated its 127th anniversary.
Chengyu Mao, founding partner of Yunqi Capital, is an alumnus from the university's class of 1989 and a council member of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University Education Development Foundation. During this anniversary celebration, he was also appointed as a member of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University Development Advisory Committee and entrepreneurship mentor for the Tiangong Program, and received the Distinguished Alumni Siyuan Contribution Commemorative Award from his alma mater.

New roles, new journeys — drawing from the source and reaching far, together cultivating the ecosystem. Over the past several years, Yunqi has steadily deepened its partnership with Shanghai Jiao Tong University across multiple dimensions.
Shanghai Jiao Tong University's endowment fund, Hanyuan Asset, is not only an investor in Yunqi; through close collaboration, the two have jointly identified and nurtured entrepreneurship projects led by SJTU professors and co-invested in multiple technology ventures founded by SJTU alumni.
Beyond investment cooperation, we have also been active in helping build the alumni ecosystem and facilitating resource connections across multiple channels.

At an exchange event co-hosted with Hanyuan Asset, SJTU professors and alumni gathered in Yunqi's office courtyard to discuss trends in the new energy sector

To give back to their alma mater, Yunqi and Chengyu Mao have made multiple donations toward research and teaching infrastructure, including the "Yuanqi" Observatory at the university's Tsung-Dao Lee Institute, basic construction for the Zhiyuan College, and the Engineering Hall Fund for the Antai College of Economics and Management.

Additionally, during the Shanghai COVID-19 outbreak, Yunqi partnered with portfolio company Intco Medical to promptly donate supplies to the university, supporting the school's pandemic response.

When drinking water, remember its source; proceed steadily to reach far. For China's rejuvenation, SJTU bears the responsibility. Multiple Yunqi team members studied at SJTU and have grown into core investment forces for the team in hard tech and frontier technology. Going forward, we will continue giving back to our alma mater, anchored by SJTU culture and SJTU responsibility, joining hands with more aspiring young people to shoulder the era's responsibilities, continuously blaze new trails of innovation, and gather the mighty force that drives national development.
