Yunqi Capital's Autonomous Driving Portfolio Shines in China's EV Hub

The rapid evolution of AI is opening new possibilities for making intelligent driving more accessible and advancing its capabilities. As an early-stage investor with a sustained focus on the intelligent driving sector, Yunqi Capital has backed multiple innovative companies that are actively pushing forward with "AI in the car" and breakthroughs in autonomous driving technology.

Recently, Yunqi Capital co-sponsored an automotive industry innovation joint roadshow organized by the Anhui Open Automotive Ecosystem Lab, automotive innovation enabler NEW AUTOHUB, the New Auto Investor Club, Ruicheng Fund, and other institutions. The event was guided by the Anhui Provincial New Energy Vehicle Industry Cluster Construction Working Group Office and the Anhui Provincial New Energy Vehicle Industry Cluster Construction Strategic Advisory Committee.

The event selected 11 outstanding automotive industry innovation projects from nearly 40 applicants to present offline in Hefei, including four Yunqi portfolio companies: Renxin Technology, Juefei Technology, Yitu Technology, and Zhongdiao Technology.

PS: If any of these companies catch your eye, feel free to reach out via our backchannel — we'd love to chat.

NEW AUTOHUB is an automotive industry innovation enablement and collaboration platform co-founded by Xuanyuan Academy, a well-known learning ecosystem in the auto industry, and Beijing Institute of Technology, among others. It was also one of the main organizers of this roadshow.

As a major hub in China's new energy vehicle industry landscape, Hefei offers a strong industrial foundation and supportive policy environment, making it an ideal host city for this event.

At the roadshow, over 30 participating investment institutions evaluated the presenting projects and discussed potential follow-up support. Beyond financial investors, multiple corporate venture arms — including FAW, SAIC, Changan, Geely, Great Wall Motor, Ruicheng, NIO, and XPeng — took part in deep engagement with the roadshow projects.

Below, we take a closer look at the four Yunqi portfolio companies that presented at this event and how they are riding the AI wave to empower intelligent driving.

1

Renxin Technology

High-Performance Automotive SerDes Chips Enabling Generative AI in Vehicles

Founded in 2022, Renxin Technology received Yunqi Capital's investment in its 2023 Pre-A+ round. Its core team hails from globally renowned chip design companies and leading automakers, bringing extensive experience in automotive chip R&D, product engineering, and commercialization. The company specializes in automotive chip design.

During this year's Beijing Auto Show, Renxin Technology unveiled its first 16G high-performance automotive SerDes chip product, R-LinC. This chip meets the demanding requirements of generative AI applications in vehicles: ultra-high data transfer rates, low latency, high reliability and stability, plus integration and low power consumption.

In practical applications, this chip is suited for scenarios such as high-definition in-vehicle camera transmission. It supports ultra-low-latency transmission at 16Gbps over 15 meters, with full backward compatibility from 16Gbps down to 1.6Gbps, insertion loss compensation exceeding 30dB, and leads competitors by one to two generations in both speed and process technology — ensuring real-time, accurate information transmission during vehicle operation.

2

Juefei Technology

Building High-Level Intelligent Driving Large Model Solutions

Founded in 2019, Juefei Technology is a leading domestic provider of autonomous driving perception-decision algorithms and data services. Yunqi Capital has supported the company continuously from its angel round through its Pre-A+ round.

Juefei's founding team brings years of R&D and technical management experience. The company positions itself as a large-model intelligent driving supplier with data closed-loop as its core engine, pursuing a technical roadmap centered on large-model perception, mapping, and data closed-loop. For both highway and urban scenarios, it develops the "heavy perception, light maps" and "map-free" solutions that have become industry consensus. Juefei has also built a professional data platform with Class-A electronic navigation map qualifications — one of only 19 such platforms nationwide.

As one of the few domestic teams capable of providing complete mass-production data closed-loop solutions for passenger vehicles, Juefei Technology has secured mass-production partnerships with multiple OEMs. Its data closed-loop mass-production solution has been designated for a leading OEM's flagship pure-electric model, with deployment expected to cover nearly 100,000 vehicles by year-end — a move that will accelerate the commercialization and mass production of intelligent driving.

3

Yitu Technology

Software-Defined Vehicles

Yitu Technology is a 2023-founded startup that received Yunqi Capital's lead investment in its angel round that same year. Its founding team has over ten years of full-stack automotive software R&D and management experience. The company currently focuses on commercializing large-model + automotive OS, service middleware, and application-layer products. Its self-developed SOA communication framework FDBus serves as a core industry middleware platform, now deployed on 100+ vehicle models from Volkswagen, Great Wall Motor, GAC, NIO, and others, with stable mass production across more than 50 domain controller projects.

As intelligent vehicle functionality grows increasingly diverse, market demand has risen for more compatible service middleware and AI middleware platforms — the precise segment Yitu Technology is targeting.

The company has successively developed its middleware and communication protocol stack Tongwen, service simulation and testing platform Liannu, and service architecture design platform Xizhong. It also entered the in-vehicle large-model space relatively early, securing a strategic partnership with a leading AI voice company in the industry, and is now advancing toward product mass-production and delivery.

4

Zhongdiao Technology

Full-Chain Data Intelligence Empowerment for the Automotive Industry

Zhongdiao Technology holds designations as a Shanghai High-Tech Enterprise, Shanghai Specialized and Innovative Enterprise, and Shanghai Technology Little Giant Enterprise. Yunqi Capital made a sole investment in the company's 2023 A2 round. Its core product matrix consists of "one brain and two engines" — a digital brain built from a data middle platform, AI platform, and Qingtian large model, plus a transaction engine and direct-sales engine that drive sales and service. On this foundation, Zhongdiao has constructed a full-chain data empowerment matrix for the automotive industry.

Zhongdiao's products and services currently cover 30 OEM brands, and the company has established deep partnerships with Alibaba Cloud and Zhipu AI. It is also the first company in China to deploy an automotive vertical large model in real-world scenarios. Its "Zhongdiao · Qingtian Large Model" spans the full vehicle lifecycle: R&D, marketing, sales, after-sales, connected vehicle services, intelligent driving, and smart cockpit. The company has developed deployable large-model application solutions particularly for pre-sales and sales processes, and has begun delivering large-model application projects to leading domestic OEMs.

Intelligent driving remains one of Yunqi Capital's sustained areas of focus. We believe that as autonomous driving enters a stage of intelligence-driven competition, product iteration, cost control, and scaled operations become particularly critical. We are committed to walking alongside the pragmatic builders who keenly spot innovation opportunities in intelligent driving — using technology to change how we live.
