In her remarks, Zhou Meifen, Cultural Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Kenya, noted that Fort Jesus Museum houses a large collection of Chinese porcelain and other relics from the Maritime Silk Road, bearing witness to the history of friendly exchanges between China and Kenya. Holding the Maritime Silk Road History and Culture Digital Exhibition here carries forward the spirit of the Maritime Silk Road and holds significant meaning for promoting cultural exchange between the two countries.
Asman Hussein, Assistant Director of the National Museums of Kenya, stated that Kenyan citizens will trace the historical footsteps of the Maritime Silk Road through this exhibition, enhancing their understanding of the outside world, particularly China.
According to reports, this event marks the first time a "Silk Road"-themed digital exhibition has come to Africa.
