"China Solution" for Smart Mobility, Empowering Global Customers

Recently, IAA Mobility 2023 — the 2023 Germany International Motor Show and Smart Mobility Expo — officially opened in Munich. DeepRoute, an L4 autonomous driving company whose angel round was led by Yunqi Capital, made its appearance at this "Olympics of the auto industry" with its latest technical achievement: DeepRoute-Driver 3.0, a high-level intelligent driving system that operates without high-definition maps, marking the beginning of DeepRoute's European expansion as part of its global strategy.

DeepRoute plans to establish a European operations center in Germany next year and release an overseas version of Driver 3.0, introducing two mass-production intelligent driving products — D-PRO and D-AIR — as well as intelligent driving light trucks. The company is currently in technical discussions with multiple international automakers.

Driver 3.0 Breaks Free from HD Maps This year, DeepRoute released DeepRoute-Driver 3.0, an HD-map-free intelligent driving solution. Driver 3.0 features precise perception capabilities — without relying on HD maps, it achieves point-to-point high-level intelligent driving on both urban and highway roads using only navigation maps, while cutting costs to one-tenth of HD map-based solutions, making L4 autonomous driving mass production viable.

Driver 3.0 is a data-driven system. When encountering complex edge-case scenarios, the system can autonomously filter data, completing annotation, training, and integration tasks, using massive datasets to drive self-directed learning and resolve edge cases. Meanwhile, Driver 3.0 incorporates multiple redundant safety mechanisms, complies with ASIL-D functional safety-grade automotive development processes, and is expected to obtain ISO international functional safety certification in 2024.

Accelerating the Global Export of China's Intelligent Driving Solution To fully adapt to the German market, DeepRoute has made localized adjustments to its system based on German road conditions and driving habits.

Since most German highways have no speed limits or very high speed limits, DeepRoute has strengthened its intelligent driving system's forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and emergency steering assist functions to minimize potential driving hazards. Regarding vehicle handling — which German users highly value — DeepRoute has continued to enhance the coupling between its intelligent driving system and vehicle chassis, further improving the system's control over the vehicle for smoother, more fluid performance during lane changes, overtaking, acceleration, and deceleration.

Additionally, to align with German traffic laws' emphasis on right-of-way, DeepRoute has optimized its perception and decision-planning algorithms to respect local rules — including yielding to straight-going traffic when turning, yielding to main-road traffic from access roads, and yielding to vehicles already in roundabouts.

DeepRoute's Overseas Strategy

DeepRoute CEO Guang Zhou said: "I'm very optimistic about the German market. This is where the automobile was born, and it's home to many leading companies. I believe that amid the wave of intelligent driving, our technology can empower these companies and help them expand into more markets."

With its extensive experience collaborating with mainstream automakers and its technical advantages, DeepRoute is ready to break into new markets. Going forward, DeepRoute will continue providing automakers globally competitive high-level intelligent driving products, working with partners to deliver more seamless, intelligent, liberating, and cost-effective smart mobility experiences to end consumers.

Intelligent driving is one of Yunqi Capital's sustained focus areas. Yunqi Capital invested in DeepRoute's angel round in 2019 and has supported the company throughout its journey. We believe that as autonomous driving enters the intelligence competition phase, product iteration, cost control, and scaled operations are particularly critical. We look forward to the day when high-level intelligent driving reaches broader consumer markets worldwide and enhances everyday life through smart mobility.
