Probably the most distinctive Christmas tree on Anfu Road

The annual anticipation for Christmas perhaps begins with a Christmas tree. Today is Christmas Eve.

The Yunqi Capital Shanghai office, tucked in a courtyard on Anfu Road, welcomed a special Christmas tree — minimalist yet tech-forward, created by angel-round portfolio company Yizao Technology.

This Christmas tree was printed by a construction robot in one seamless piece.

A Yizao Creation

The "Sparkling Silver Tree" takes its inspiration from the Chinese idiom huoshu yinhua (火树银花), describing the spectacular sight of lanterns aglow or fireworks ablaze — a fitting evocation of Christmas lights and revelry.

The entire installation uses biodegradable, eco-friendly plastic. With the lights off, the printed material carries a subtle, metallic sheen that shimmers and flows as you move around it, catching light even from the corners — hence the "silver tree." When illuminated, LED strips flicker through the structure like flames dancing brightly, becoming the "sparks."
