Yunqi Capital Doubles Down on "Kongshanci" Series A: Reshaping Neuromodulation Through Brain-Computer Interaction | Yunqi Partners
Decoding emotion and cognition through technology, drawing closer to answers that lie deeper within.

Recently, Shanghai Kongshanci Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Kongshanci"), which focuses on next-generation brain-computer interaction and neuromodulation technology, announced the completion of its Series A financing round. The Yunqi-SJTU AI Angel Fund, which led the company's Pre-A round, continued to increase its investment in this round.
Kongshanci takes "whole-brain functional connectivity computing engine + robotic navigation + multimodal closed-loop modulation" as its core architecture. Around scenarios such as in-hospital treatment of mental and cognitive disorders, and at-home treatment of emotional and sleep disorders, it has built product pipelines including transcranial focused ultrasound, navigated transcranial magnetic stimulation, and closed-loop electrical stimulation. In this issue, Yunqi Partners joins you to learn more.
Yunqi Capital's Perspective:
Brain-computer interfaces are a frontier technology direction we closely follow. Kongshanci consistently starts from application needs, seeks appropriate matching technologies, and has demonstrated exceptional execution capabilities. We are optimistic about Kongshanci's continued breakthroughs in the brain-computer frontier.
The funds raised in this round will be mainly used for product R&D iteration, medical device registration applications, and global expansion.
Hundreds of millions of people worldwide suffering from depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, Alzheimer's disease, and other mental and cognitive disorders are waiting for a more effective, precise, and accessible treatment solution. The traditional "one-size-fits-all" treatment approach will be rapidly disrupted, and no company globally has yet established a full-stack ecosystem from underlying technology to clinical application in the multi-energy neuromodulation track**.**
Kongshanci is precisely confronting this complexity — rejecting standardized, cookie-cutter treatments, and committing to understanding each unique brain map through precise brain-computer interaction technology, providing optimal solutions and beyond-expectation product experiences for every individual trapped by mental illness.

"Whole-Brain Functional Connectivity Computing Engine + Robotic Navigation + Multimodal Closed-Loop Modulation"
Stemming from profound insight into mental and cognitive disorders, Kongshanci firmly delves into clinical frontlines, seeking optimal solutions for every specific scenario. Based on this, Kongshanci has formed a globally leading brain-computer interaction and neuromodulation architecture of "whole-brain functional connectivity computing engine + robotic navigation + multimodal closed-loop modulation." This architecture takes "whole-brain functional connectivity computing engine" and "robotic navigation" as its underlying support, integrating understanding of multiple energy modalities including magnetic, ultrasound, and electrical, to achieve full-chain intelligence from signal perception, target computation, precise execution, to closed-loop modulation.
On the foundation of this globally leading architecture, Kongshanci has independently developed transcranial focused ultrasound, navigated transcranial magnetic stimulation systems, and closed-loop electrical stimulation as flexibly deployable technology platforms, precisely stripping away unnecessary technical interference and retaining only the most efficient intervention pathways. This "problem-solving-centric" research accumulation enables Kongshanci to truly provide individualized, effective systematic solutions for patients with different indications, and constitutes one of Kongshanci's core competitive moats.

Full-Scenario Brain-Computer Interaction and Neuromodulation Capabilities
Faced with enormous clinical demand, Kongshanci has established a clear three-stage implementation path: driving frontier technology validation through high-level scientific research collaboration, establishing medical standards through rigorous clinical evidence, and simultaneously developing at-home treatment devices. The company has built a product matrix covering in-hospital treatment of mental and cognitive disorders, and at-home treatment of emotional and sleep disorders.
Focused ultrasound can precisely reach deep brain nuclei, acting on key brain regions that determine emotion, cognition, and pain such as the thalamus, amygdala, hippocampus, and anterior cingulate cortex. However, attenuation and deviation of sound waves after transcranial transmission has long been a global technical challenge. At the transcranial focused ultrasound system level, Kongshanci is successively launching 64 to 1024-channel independently developed transcranial focused ultrasound systems. Through a built-in phase control engine, the system completes waveform correction based on each patient's cranial anatomical features, overcoming the energy attenuation and focal point deviation challenges when sound waves penetrate the skull, enabling the equipment to achieve millimeter-level precision directly to deep brain regions with dynamic focal point adjustment, successfully transforming highly manual-experience-dependent research-grade acoustic experiments into stable, safe routine clinical diagnostic and treatment methods.
At the navigated transcranial magnetic stimulation system level, Kongshanci's navigated transcranial magnetic stimulation system is the company's first Class III medical device to enter registration clinical trials, providing a new precise treatment option for depression patients. Currently, this system has initiated the highest-standard clinical validation in China's neuromodulation field — with four national mental health centers (Beijing Anding Hospital, Shanghai Mental Health Center, Xiangya Second Hospital, and West China Hospital) conducting clinical enrollment simultaneously for the first time**, demonstrating strong clinical demand and high recognition.**
**At the closed-loop electrical stimulation product level, the team relies on temporal interference electrical stimulation technology, achieving precise targeting through independent development and conversion of deep electric field complex physical model algorithms, equipped with a real-time independently operating EEG signal analysis module, thereby achieving spatiotemporally precise closed-loop electrical stimulation intervention solutions. Kongshanci's closed-loop electrical stimulation product will serve as the critical bridge from in-hospital intensive treatment to out-of-hospital long-term management, building a full-lifecycle closed loop for mental and cognitive disorder management.
