The 100 Most Noteworthy Semiconductor Startups in the World.
EE Times, the globally renowned electronics and semiconductor magazine, has released its 2022 edition of the world's 100 most noteworthy semiconductor startups: Silicon 100: Startups to Follow in 2022.
Selections for the "Silicon 100" are based on comprehensive criteria including technology, target markets, financial condition and investment profile, maturity, and executive leadership. The Silicon list debuted in 2004 and has been updated 22 times to date. This year also marks EE Times' 50th anniversary, and the Silicon 100 has become the industry's most closely watched list globally.
In the 2022 Silicon 100, Europe and North America remain relatively concentrated by region, followed by Asia. China has 20 semiconductor companies on this year's Silicon 100 list. Four 5Y Capital portfolio companies were selected:

This year's Silicon 100 includes 69 companies that were on last year's list and 31 newcomers. It covers 21 technology sectors: materials and packaging, chip manufacturing equipment, photovoltaics, energy harvesting, power/GaN/SiC, foundry/manufacturing, EDA/IP/design services, analog/mixed-signal/PMIC, memory, medical, MEMS/sensors/actuators, optoelectronics/image sensors, display and drivers, RF & IoT, 5G & high-frequency RF, radar/lidar/ADAS, vision processing, general-purpose processors/MCUs/FPGAs, dedicated processors/accelerators, quantum computing, and security.
