5Y News|Vivace Therapeutics Announces Completion of Angel Round Raising Tens of Millions of RMB
Huanyi Bio announced the completion of an angel funding round of tens of millions of RMB, led by 5Y Capital.

On December 28, AliveX Biotech announced the completion of a tens of millions of RMB angel round. The round was led by 5Y Capital (formerly Morningside Venture Capital), with participation from Cherubic Ventures. The proceeds will primarily fund advancement of its existing product pipeline, continued optimization of its AI+ systems immunology technology platform, and further expansion of domestic and international industry-university-research collaborations.
Xutian Jing, Managing Director at 5Y Capital, stated: "The immune system is the body's defense system and a critical hub that determines the onset, progression, and resolution of human diseases. Before the convergence of systems immunology and machine learning, researchers typically sought breakthroughs in disease diagnosis and treatment through single or limited biomarkers. Yet the immune system is extraordinarily complex — a single change can affect the whole system. Many diseases cannot be clearly diagnosed or monitored through a single marker alone, while multi-omics, multi-variable complex analysis is precisely what machine learning modeling excels at. As China accumulates multi-dimensional data and machine learning integrates more deeply with immunology, we now have the opportunity to build a baseline for Asian population immune systems, enabling better disease diagnosis, therapeutic efficacy assessment, and precision drug development. Of course, this industry is still in its early stages. At this phase, the capabilities we value most in a team are, first, the ability to efficiently acquire high-quality multi-dimensional clinical data, and second, deep understanding of systems immunology coupled with strong machine learning algorithm development capabilities. AliveX aligns well with our expectations for the team, and we look forward to exploring next-generation precision diagnosis and treatment empowered by AI+ systems immunology together."

Founded in January 2019, AliveX Biotech is China's first innovative biotech company applying AI+ systems immunology in clinical settings. Driven by its AI+ systems immunology technology platform, the company independently develops multi-omics diagnostic products and precision diagnosis and treatment solutions for diverse clinical scenarios, while providing biomarker-oriented new drug R&D services to pharmaceutical companies.
AliveX Biotech possesses formidable technical strength and resource integration capabilities. Its professional advisory and expert team includes academicians in immunology and oncology from China and abroad, presidents of top-tier hospitals, and senior clinical experts from various departments. The core team comprises cross-disciplinary talent from immunology, systems biology, clinical medicine, bioinformatics, and artificial intelligence from home and abroad. The scientific team hails from the University of Cambridge, Harvard University, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and renowned top-tier hospitals, with prior experience at international giants including Roche, AstraZeneca, and Bayer. The AI and bioinformatics team comes from Intel AI, the Biomedical Big Data Center at the Chinese Academy of Sciences' Institute of Biophysics, and other institutions, bringing extensive experience in omics technologies, biological data analysis, artificial intelligence, and data mining. Following this financing round, AliveX Biotech will continue to recruit world-class senior technical experts internationally to build a globally leading technology R&D platform.
"AliveX Biotech is leveraging leading AI+ systems immunology technology to decode the immune system, using a deeply integrated industry-university-research R&D model to analyze multi-omics data and fundamentally enhance understanding of the human immune system and disease, generating tremendous value for future precision medicine R&D," said Wen Wen, Founder and CEO of AliveX Biotech. "We are deeply grateful for the trust and support from 5Y Capital and Cherubic Ventures. The company and our investors share a consistent vision and confidence in the broad application prospects of artificial intelligence and immunology in life sciences. We are honored to join hands in advancing toward the future of life sciences. Through this round of financing, the company is confident in establishing international leadership in the AI+ systems immunology technology field and contributing to next-generation precision medicine R&D."
Integrating Multi-Omics Data to Build an "AI+ Systems Immunology" Technology Platform
As life sciences continue to advance, the importance of the human immune system has become increasingly prominent. Research shows that many diseases threatening human health are closely related to immunity. In recent years, major pharmaceutical companies, clinical medicine practitioners, and research institutions worldwide have attempted to approach oncology, autoimmune diseases, infectious diseases, neurological diseases, and other conditions from an immunological perspective to explore new solutions.
However, the immune system and its interactions with disease are extraordinarily complex. Take malignant tumors as an example: the emergence of immunotherapy has given doctors and patients more options, but due to heterogeneity in both tumors and individual patients, determining the most effective treatment plan for each patient has become the greatest challenge facing tumor immunotherapy today. AliveX Biotech attempts to integrate multi-omics data, elucidate the mechanisms of human immune system operation, and explore the correlations and mechanisms of action between immunity, disease, and treatment — providing important foundations and new directions for next-generation precision diagnosis and treatment solutions.
AliveX Biotech combines artificial intelligence technology with the highly specialized field of systems immunology, innovatively developing a globally leading AI+ systems immunology technology platform.
Specifically, AliveX Biotech utilizes multi-dimensional data including public databases, literature mining, proprietary clinical immunology data, and multi-omics experimental platform data to build a human immune knowledge graph and big data platform. The latter can aggregate large-cohort multi-omics immunology data — including interactions between cells, genes, and proteins and network regulation information — tailored to different clinical questions. Subsequently, its built-in machine learning computing analyzes and predicts patient immune system interactions and operational states, systemic responses to disease and drugs, thereby discovering the intrinsic relationships and biomarkers of "human-disease-drug" and conducting various in-depth R&D and experimental validation based on these findings.
At present, AliveX Biotech primarily leverages its platform technology advantages to collaborate with top-tier hospitals in research capacities, working with authoritative clinical experts on different clinical pain points and establishing deep industry-university-research cooperation mechanisms to drive productization of high-quality research results. This forms an R&D model combining basic research, applied research, and technological innovation. To date, AliveX Biotech has established deep partnerships with over 30 leading research institutions at home and abroad, including the Chinese PLA General Hospital, China-Japan Friendship Hospital, West China Hospital of Sichuan University, The First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University, Oxford University, Tsinghua University, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, accumulating tens of thousands of clinical immunology data points across different disease areas.
Wen Wen noted that as increasing data collection and modeling generate scale effects, AliveX Biotech's "AI+ Systems Immunology" technology platform will continuously accelerate R&D of new diagnosis and treatment solutions, ultimately substantially improving new drug R&D success rates and enhancing clinical diagnosis and treatment decision-making efficiency.
Currently, AliveX Biotech is gradually building a diagnostic product system based on its "AI+ Systems Immunology" technology platform while continuously expanding pharmaceutical company collaboration projects. On the diagnostic product front, AliveX Biotech has laid out over ten R&D pipelines covering early diagnosis of tumors and other diseases, treatment and efficacy evaluation, and toxicity prediction, with multiple multi-center clinical validations underway. Diagnostic products are expected to enter the certification application process next year. On the pharmaceutical collaboration front, AliveX Biotech is conducting joint R&D with several domestic and international biotech companies, primarily focused on Phase I and Phase II clinical studies of immunotherapy drugs.
