Horizon Robotics, D-Robotics, and Orbbec Reach Strategic Partnership
On August 11, Orbbec signed a cooperation agreement with Horizon Robotics and its subsidiary D-Robotics in Beijing. The two sides will deepen collaboration in robotics intelligence, leveraging their respective technical and product strengths to jointly drive technological innovation and real-world deployment in the robotics industry. Yuanhao Huang, founder, chairman, and CEO of Orbbec, and Kai Yu, founder and CEO of Horizon Robotics, attended and witnessed the signing ceremony; Cheng Wang, general manager of Orbbec's robotics product line, and Cong Wang, CEO of D-Robotics, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective companies. Deepexi and Ugreen Reach Strategic Partnership
On August 20, Deepexi and Shenzhen Ugreen Technology Co., Ltd. formally signed an agreement and held the kickoff meeting for their data governance platform and consulting services project at Ugreen's headquarters. Founded in 2012, Ugreen is a national high-tech enterprise integrating R&D, design, production, and sales, dedicated to providing comprehensive digital solutions for global users. On August 4, Kingsoft Office released WPS AI 3.0 — the native Office AI agent "WPS Lingxi." On August 1, METiS Pharmaceuticals, a leader in AI-powered nano-delivery innovation, held the unveiling ceremony for its OpenCGT platform and Series D funding announcement at the Zhongguancun (Daxing) Cell and Gene Therapy Industrial Park. On August 20, XtalPi (2228.HK) announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Dong-A ST, a leading South Korean pharmaceutical company. The two parties will combine their respective strengths to jointly develop innovative therapies for immune and inflammatory diseases, leveraging XtalPi's AI + robotics R&D platform. This collaboration will draw on XtalPi's intelligent drug discovery platform driven by quantum physics, artificial intelligence, and robotic experimentation, with both companies jointly identifying targets to design and develop first-in-class or best-in-class drug candidates from scratch. Silicon Integrated Completes Series D+ Funding
On August 15, Silicon Integrated, a domestic supplier of intelligent sensing chips and solutions, announced the completion of its Series D+ funding round. Founded in 2016, Silicon Integrated is an innovative high-tech company focused on high-performance analog and mixed-signal chip design, headquartered in Wuhan Optics Valley with R&D centers in Europe, Beijing, Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Suzhou. The company focuses on intelligent sensing, with product lines spanning intelligent audio, 3D optics, advanced optics, haptic sensing, and optical image stabilization. Its self-developed core technologies — including backside-illuminated high-resolution 3D-iToF sensor chips, under-display optical sensor chips, and multispectral sensing chips — have been deployed at scale in premium domestic smartphones and tablets. Moore Threads Joins China Mobile in Building OISA Ecosystem
On August 27, at the main forum of the 2025 China Computing Conference, China Mobile, together with Zhejiang Lab, Moore Threads, and dozens of industry chain partners, jointly launched the OISA (Open Intelligent Computing Interconnect Architecture) ecosystem co-building strategic partnership and released the OISA 2.0 protocol. Minghui Pharmaceutical Completes $131 Million Pre-IPO Funding
On August 7, 2025, Minghui Pharmaceutical announced the completion of $131 million in Pre-IPO funding. On August 5, an all-domestic intelligent office all-in-one machine, independently innovated and developed entirely by Chinese enterprises, was officially launched at the 2025 Global Artificial Intelligence Conference, offering users an efficient, secure, and intelligent office experience. Signet Therapeutics Nominated for "Nobel Prize of Pharma" Prix Galien
On August 11, the 2025 Prix Galien USA — one of the highest honors in international biomedicine — announced its nominees. Signet Therapeutics became the only Chinese biopharmaceutical company nominated for the "Best Biotechnology Award" this year, recognized for its global first-in-class diffuse gastric cancer targeted therapy SIGX1094R. Xiaomi Opens Africa's First Directly Operated Store in Morocco
On August 15, Moroccan media outlet InfoMagazine reported that Xiaomi launched its own brand in Morocco this July, formally establishing its local subsidiary XIAOMI Morocco. Unlike its previous reliance on partners such as GSM Distribution or IRIS Maroc, or on Morocco's three major telecom operators, the creation of Xiaomi's own subsidiary represents a profound strategic shift. The group now intends to control the entire chain from import to sales, including marketing and customer service. Read more
Xpeng Motors Reaches Strategic Partnership with Volkswagen Group
On August 15, 2025, XPeng Inc. and the Volkswagen Group jointly announced that following their electronic and electrical architecture technology strategic cooperation joint development agreement signed on July 22, 2024, the jointly developed industry-leading electronic and electrical architecture is accelerating development at "China speed" and has achieved key project milestones. Based on mutual agreement to expand the application scope of the electronic and electrical architecture and to platformize it across Volkswagen Group's vehicle platforms and powertrain types, the two parties have signed an agreement to expand their strategic cooperation on electronic and electrical architecture technology. Xpeng AeroHT Enters Large-Scale Flight Testing
On August 5, Deli Zhao, CEO of Xpeng AeroHT, announced the official launch of the test pilot team, marking the formal entry of flying cars into the "large-scale flight testing" phase. Meanwhile, mass production preparations are accelerating — the main structure of Xpeng AeroHT's world's first flying car mass production factory has been topped out and is currently in equipment commissioning, with completion expected in Q4 this year.
