Horizon Robotics' D-Robotics Makes Official Debut
On August 21, D-Robotics, a subsidiary of Horizon Robotics, announced its official launch via its WeChat public account. After nine years of growth, the company has become the industry's only enterprise building a full software and hardware foundation for robotics. Its founding vision is to become the "Wintel of the robotics era," accelerating the evolution of machine intelligence, fostering harmonious human-machine coexistence, and establishing itself as the "mother ecosystem" of the robotics age. Deepexi and Shouxiangu Form Strategic Partnership to Build Data Governance Platform
On August 6, Deepexi and Jinhua Shouxiangu Pharmaceutical Co. announced a partnership, holding a project kickoff meeting at Shouxiangu's Huanglong headquarters with core personnel from both sides in attendance. The collaboration will leverage Deepexi's FastData real-time intelligent data lakehouse platform to build a unified data platform, connecting end-to-end data pipelines to support executive decision-making and management operations, continuously unlocking data value. XtalPi and GCL Group Sign Strategic Partnership Agreement
On August 24, XtalPi and GCL Group formally signed a five-year strategic partnership agreement at GCL's Suzhou Energy Center. The partnership will deeply integrate both parties' unique AI expertise and R&D capabilities, with precise focus on key areas including perovskites, lithium-ion batteries, cathode materials, and carbon-silicon materials. Leveraging advanced language models and multi-agent systems and other leading technologies, the two sides will jointly build customized large models for materials science plus automation platforms, driving AI-powered industrial intelligence and paradigm upgrades in new energy R&D. Kuaishou and Mango TV Reach Comprehensive Deep Partnership
On August 22, Kuaishou and Mango TV announced a comprehensive deep partnership. Under the agreement, the collaboration will include joint production and promotion of short dramas, secondary creation and promotion of long-form video content, and more. The partnership aims to drive innovation and development in both short-form and long-form video content, enhancing user experience. Read more
Keep Launches First Smart Sports Watch
On August 13, Keep held a media briefing for the Keep Watch Pilot 1 smart sports watch, offering hands-on experience and discussion of its newly launched wearable device. At the event, Keep Executive Director and Partner Dong Liu said: "Data tracking is something every sports watch on the market can do, but Keep's core value to users is — more scientific running guidance." Moore Threads and 360 Reach Strategic Partnership
On August 1, during the 12th Internet Security Conference, Moore Threads and 360 Group announced a strategic partnership, signing a cooperation agreement on-site. The collaboration focuses on innovative applications in digital security, information and digitalization services, and large language models, jointly building a more robust and reliable AI ecosystem to provide advanced technical support and services across industries. SenseTime's YuanLuobo Full Product Line Debuts at 2024 World Robot Conference, Launching International Chess Edition
On August 21, the 2024 World Robot Conference opened in Beijing. SenseTime's home robot brand "YuanLuobo SenseRobot" showcased its full product lineup, with the newly released YuanLuobo AI Chess Robot — International Chess Professional Edition becoming the world's first international chess robot to enter homes. Xpeng X9 Earns China's First ADAS Certification Under Complex Weather Conditions
On August 22, Xpeng Motors announced via its official WeChat account that the Xpeng X9 had completed ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) function certification under complex weather conditions at China Automotive Technology and Research Center Co., Ltd., becoming the first vehicle nationwide to pass this test. Xpeng Aeroht Raises $150 Million in Series B1 Funding
On August 5, Xpeng Aeroht announced $150 million in Series B1 funding and simultaneously initiated its Series B2 round. The company is set to build the world's first flying car factory using modern assembly lines for mass production in Guangzhou Development District, initially for manufacturing the airframe portion of its modular flying car "Land Aircraft Carrier." Deli Zhao, founder of Xpeng Aeroht, stated that this funding will ensure the smooth progress of flying car R&D, scaled production, and commercialization. Read more
Pony.ai and ComfortDelGro Partner to Advance Large-Scale Commercial Robotaxi Operations
On July 31, at the 14th Guangdong-Singapore Cooperation Council meeting, Pony.ai and ComfortDelGro, a Singapore-based multi-modal transport operator, signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a strategic partnership for jointly advancing large-scale commercial robotaxi operations. The two sides will first launch autonomous driving commercial operation cooperation in China, with plans to expand to other countries and regions. Read more

2024 "PEDaily TOP100" Investors Announced — Qin Liu, Fei Zhang, and Ye Yuan of 5Y Capital Make the List
On August 20, the 2024 "PEDaily TOP100" investor rankings were officially released. Now in its ninth consecutive year, the ranking has become a window for observing industry shifts. PEDaily, Zero2IPO, and the MAX system compiled tens of thousands of investment data points on candidates since January 2022, comprehensively evaluating five dimensions: number of personal investments, investment amount, overall returns, and individual and institutional industry influence. From over 1,000 candidates, 100 outstanding investors were selected for their strong performance and contributions to China's venture capital industry. 5Y Capital founding partner Qin Liu, partner Fei Zhang, and partner Ye Yuan made the list. 5Y Capital Featured on Multiple Rankings from Diyixinsheng and Ketaiban Daily
On August 15, Diyixinsheng released its Q2 2024 China Most Active Institutions series rankings. Focusing on investment, fundraising, IPO, and service transaction data in China's new economy equity investment market for Q2 2024, the rankings were based on IT Juzi and Tianyancha big data, supplemented by survey questionnaires, phone interviews, and institutional research. 5Y Capital was named to the "Most Active VC Firms TOP30," "Most Active Investors in New Energy and New Materials TOP20," and "Most Active Investors in AI TOP10" lists. On August 21, the 2024 Sci-Tech Investment Pioneer series rankings were released. Initiated by Ketaiban Daily and Cailianshe, with Xingkuang Data and Zhizhong Data as data partners, the rankings were compiled over four months starting April 24, 2024, ultimately producing 7 lists recognizing 45 pioneer investors and 44 outstanding investment institutions. 5Y Capital was named to the "2024 Sci-Tech Pioneer Investment Firms — Active Investment List," and 5Y Capital founding partner Qin Liu was named to the "Sci-Tech Pioneer Partners List."
