Horizon Robotics Partners with STRADVISION
In October, Horizon Robotics formally established a strategic partnership with STRADVISION, an industry-leading deep learning vision perception technology company. The two parties will combine STRADVISION's flexible perception technology with Horizon's efficient Journey® series computing solutions to provide cost-effective intelligent driving solutions for Tier-1 suppliers and OEMs. Read more

In October, HAI Robotics, Megvii, and CoEvolution formally established a strategic partnership at CeMAT ASIA 2023. The three parties will work closely together, along with more industry partners, to jointly provide customers with flexible integrated solutions spanning "pallet-to-tote-to-piece" operations, continuously improving overall warehousing and logistics efficiency. Kingsoft Office and iFlytek Form Strategic Partnership to Build Digital Services Ecosystem
In October, Kingsoft Office and iFlytek announced a strategic partnership. The two parties will carry out in-depth cooperation across digital office products, industry solutions, AI large models, and open capability integration. Kingsoft Office CEO Zhang Qingyuan stated that AI and collaboration are central to the company's current strategy, and that Kingsoft Office will use large models to reimagine office software, providing every user with entirely new product experiences in AIGC (content creation), Copilot (intelligent assistant), and Insight (knowledge discovery). XtalPi and Merck Collaborate on Innovative Application of CSP-Lite Technology in Co-Crystal Screening
In October, researchers from XtalPi and Merck collaborated to explore new co-crystal forms of a drug candidate and a pharmaceutical intermediate, aiming to improve their physicochemical properties. The innovative "experiment + computation" R&D model organically combined Merck's solid-state experimental capabilities with XtalPi's latest CSP-Lite (lightweight crystal structure prediction) technology. The research findings from this collaboration have been published in the journal Molecular Pharmaceutics. Read more
PingCAP Makes BenchCouncil's First-Ever Global Open Source Contribution Rankings
In October, TiDB was listed on the open source computer systems achievement rankings under the Software-Data Management and Storage-NewSQL branch; PingCAP appeared on the institutional rankings as one of the highest-ranked Chinese projects; and PingCAP's three founders — Qi Liu, Dongxu Huang, and Qiu Cui — were each listed on the open source systems contributor rankings. BenchCouncil (International BenchCouncil) invited multiple independent scientists to select 145 representative achievements from open source or open-source-influencing work dating from the 1960s to the present, producing five-decade achievement, institutional, and talent rankings for the open source field based on identified primary contributors. SenseTime Launches "Dayi" Healthcare Large Model to Drive Industry Digital Transformation
In October, SenseTime released an upgraded version of its healthcare large language model "Dayi," and announced partnerships with multiple institutions to implement "Dayi" in specific healthcare scenarios. A SenseTime vice president stated that "Dayi" will cover the entire healthcare industry chain, exploring cooperation with enterprises and institutions in nutrition, wellness, and health management to provide powerful momentum for digital transformation in enterprise services. Xiaomi Unveils New Operating System HyperOS
In October, Lei Jun publicly announced that Xiaomi's latest operating system, Xiaomi HyperOS, had completed final packaging, calling it a "critical leap toward a human-vehicle-home comprehensive ecosystem." Lei Jun believes Xiaomi HyperOS "will completely rewrite the underlying architecture, laying a universal foundation for the interconnection of everything, ready for tens of billions of devices and connections in the future." Xpeng Motors Unveils Modular Flying Car
In October, at Xpeng Motors' 1024 Tech Day, Chairman He Xiaopeng unveiled a production-ready modular flying car. The product consists of a ground module and an air module: the ground module is a range-extended electric vehicle that can continuously recharge the air module, featuring 6x6 all-wheel drive and rear-wheel steering; the air module is a manually or automatically piloted two-seat eVTOL that can fully automatically deploy, stow, and enter/exit the ground module. Pony.ai Partners with Abu Dhabi Investment Office to Advance Global Autonomous Driving
In October, at GITEX Global, a global technology exhibition held in the UAE, Chinese autonomous driving company Pony.ai signed a cooperation agreement with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), announcing its participation in the Smart and Autonomous Vehicles Industry (SAVI) cluster being built in Masdar City. GravityXR Completes Series A Financing of Several Hundred Million RMB
In October, GravityXR, an XR (Extended Reality) spatial computing chip design company, announced the completion of a Series A financing round of several hundred million RMB. Since its founding in September 2021, the company has completed four financing rounds total. The proceeds will support GravityXR's development and growth to achieve more in the XR technology space. This Series A round was led by Monolith, with participation from Ningbo Tongshang Fund, China Merchants Venture Capital, and Haiding Capital. Existing shareholders miHoYo, Yaotu Capital, Tongge Venture Capital, Zhongyuan Capital, 37 Interactive Entertainment, and Sequoia Capital continued to follow on. Read more

In October, the 2023 Future Science Prize Award Ceremony was held at the Hong Kong Palace Museum. Qin Liu, founding partner of 5Y Capital, delivered a speech as the 2023 rotating chair of the Future Science Prize Donors General Assembly and the 2023 rotating chair of the Future Forum Council. Liu said: "Scientists, as the finest representatives of human curiosity and intellectual capacity, deserve more attention and stronger support — this is the original intention and significance of the Future Science Prize. 5Y Capital Named to Cyzone's "2023 Most Admired Venture Capital Firms" List
In October, Cyzone released its 2023 Most Admired Venture Capital Firms rankings. The list combined actual voting results from nearly 200 judges, with nearly 15,000 total votes cast, ultimately producing a brand ranking covering 190 investment institutions. 5Y Capital was honored with both "2023 Most Admired Venture Capital Firm" and "2023 Most Admired VC Firm in AIGC." Future Looks Bright: Global Top Three Announced at RTE Innovation Competition
In October, the 2023 Supersonic Plan finale — the 3rd RTE Innovation Competition Global Finals — concluded successfully at the RTE2023 Real-Time Internet Conference. The finalist teams came from the Supersonic Plan 2023 Top 8 and overseas Startup Battlefield winners, presenting innovative scenarios including an AI character emotion engine, AI dance instruction, an XR training platform, and an AI-native observability platform. Ultimately, Wuzhi Technology, Yinghuo Space, and Kivisense took the top three spots, while Motphys received the Dachuangzhi Special Award from Shanghai Yangpu Venture Capital. Read more
