Platform-based drug discovery company Redesign Science today announced the completion of two consecutive funding rounds totaling $15 million.
The first tranche of $5 million was led by Collaborative Fund, with participation from Preface Venture, Acequia Capital, Hawktail, and existing investor 5Y Capital. The follow-on round of $10 million was led by Cathay Capital, with ZhenFund and previous round investors also participating. BioCapital advised on the transaction.
Proceeds from this round will primarily fund continued innovation at the intersection of statistical physics, computational science, and biotechnology for the development of drugs targeting dynamic protein conformations. The company will also expand Redesign's cloud computing framework and apply it to multiple new target discovery programs. Going forward, Redesign will continue to advance partnership programs with other biotech companies alongside its internal pipeline development.

Traditional drug discovery faces mounting challenges of high cost, long timelines, and rising failure rates, while the pace of novel target identification far outstrips the speed of drug development — severely limiting the potential for innovative therapeutics. In response, Redesign Science has built a comprehensive framework for virtual drug design and screening to evaluate the druggability of previously unexplored protein pockets.
