On November 6, Pony.ai announced it had raised $267 million in Series C funding led by the Teachers' Innovation Platform (TIP), the late-stage and growth equity arm of Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan (OTPP). TIP focuses on disruptive technology companies.
Other participants in the round included existing investors Fidelity China Special Situations PLC, 5Y Capital, ClearVue Partners, and Eight Roads. Following this round, Pony.ai's total funding exceeded $1 billion, with a post-money valuation surpassing $5.3 billion.
