Agora x 5Y Capital | Spring Supersonic Final Four Announced — Ambitious Founders, Come Join
The Supersonic Fall Cohort is still recruiting.
On June 10, the day after China's national college entrance exam, the Spring 2023 Supersonic cohort faced their own "exam" — an internal demo day. The top four finishers will join the top four from the Fall 2023 cohort and outstanding overseas RTE startups on the finals stage of the 3rd RTE Innovation Competition, competing for the top three spots globally.
After more than four hours of intense pitches, InsightMon (an LLM-based full-stack observability and intelligent operations platform), Kivisense (focused on solving the "try-before-you-buy" pain point in e-commerce), Firefly Space (the mixed-reality headset with the world's largest field of view), and HeartBeat (using AI to help users quickly learn popular dances and build a following) took the top four spots. They will represent the Spring '23 Supersonic Accelerator at the 1024 RTE Innovation Competition finals.
At the demo day, a panel of judges drawn from co-organizers Agora and 5Y Capital, as well as Supersonic VC partners — GGV Capital, MiraclePlus, Ruiyi Capital, Picus Capital, and Inno Angel Fund — evaluated the startups' projects and offered targeted professional feedback. Other investors and industry guests in attendance included Monad Ventures, Zhencheng Capital, SOSV, Chenhui Venture Capital, Amazon Web Services, HTC Vive X, Unity Black Horse Program, NVIDIA, and Accenture.
This spring's cohort was a special one. The in-person programming took participants to Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Hangzhou, and Yangzhou for close-up exchanges with local partners and outstanding companies. Combined with Supersonic's product and operations curriculum, and the founders' own innovative use cases, the program offered deep dives into different markets, policies, and startup environments. Virtual events, remote sessions, and VR experiences — all RTE applications — were woven into the offline programming, creating real-time interaction that felt as intimate as gathering in one room, enriching the overall experience.
At the closing ceremony following the pitches, Dr. Hui Yang, head of Agora's ecosystem operations, and Bing Jie, head of the Supersonic program, presented graduates with their certificates and commemorative gifts. "This isn't the end — it's a new beginning," Dr. Yang said. "The closing ceremony only marks the end of three months of programming, but Supersonic, Agora, 5Y Capital, and the broader RTE ecosystem will continue walking alongside you on your entrepreneurial journey."
The emergence of new RTE scenarios in recent years keeps pushing the boundaries of what's possible in the industry.
