Agora x 5Y Capital: 2022 Fall Supersonic Program Kicks Off!
Twenty startups successfully joined the program.
On August 20, the fall 2022 Supersonic Program kicked off as scheduled. A new cohort of 20 startup partners successfully joined the program, spanning industries including the metaverse, Future of Work, and marketing — not only expanding the Supersonic community but also bringing rich innovation scenarios and fresh perspectives, injecting new energy into the RTE startup ecosystem.
The opening ceremony was held at Vland, a permanent startup partner from the fall 2021 Supersonic Program cohort. Conducted online, it used "real-time engagement" to bring together partners from Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Dalian, Nanjing, and other cities as if they were in the same room. Alumni from the spring 2022 cohort — Huokeduo and Fanjing Xingda — shared their experiences in the program and tips for navigating the Supersonic "playbook." Over the next three months, this cohort of startup partners will officially begin their acceleration journey, advancing together with the full ecosystem of the Super Co-Creation Accelerator on the path of RTE.

Real-Time Engagement Enters Deep Waters, with a Focus on Metaverse Infrastructure
Real-Time Engagement (RTE) is accelerating its penetration across industries. As noted in the Real-Time Engagement Industry Development Research Report published by CAICT in 2022, apps with RTE functionality grew from 1% to 30% between 2015 and 2021, and RTE penetration is expected to exceed 50% by 2025. The breadth and depth of RTE-covered scenarios will continue to expand, with RTE applications gradually moving from the application layer down to underlying infrastructure.
Among the projects that applied this round, we were pleased to see that an increasing number of companies are adopting RTE earlier in their development, with scenarios becoming more diversified, granular, and deeply integrated. Based on enrollment statistics for this Supersonic cohort, pan-entertainment social and metaverse scenarios have become more segmented with richer feature sets, and more outstanding metaverse infrastructure and underlying capabilities have emerged. Marketing scenarios are using RTE as an important and innovative channel for customer acquisition and activation. Meanwhile, demand for RTE in relatively traditional industry scenarios — including Future of Work, industrial, healthcare, and construction applications — continues to grow. Real-time engagement is empowering thousands of industries to create new value and deliver richer, multi-layered user experiences.
The Wave of Chinese Companies Going Global, with Full Supersonic Support
In an environment of intense global technology competition, an increasing number of startup teams face the challenges of whether to go global and how to do so. To broaden partners' thinking around "born global" strategies, the Supersonic Program has invited mentors from China and abroad to share insights on the differences between Chinese and international entrepreneurship. Starting with this cohort, the program is leveraging the Agora ecosystem's Super Co-Creation Accelerator to provide partners with an exclusive global expansion package, covering everything from trend analysis and expert exchanges to policy guidance and on-the-ground support, including even strategic discounts on global expansion resources.
The scaled development of an industry depends on the combined strength of the full upstream and downstream ecosystem. Beyond the global expansion package, partners from technology, product, VC, and community ecosystems have provided comprehensive support to the Supersonic Program since its first cohort. In addition to long-standing supporters like Agora and 5Y Capital, new friends continue to join! New partners joining this cohort include HTC VIVE X, XNode, and GeekPark's Founder Park reality show, who will provide dedicated support in technology products, global expansion enablement, and branding — the Supersonic package just got even richer!
