On March 16, 2022, Stanford University's One Hundred Year Study on Artificial Intelligence (AI100) officially released its fifth AI Index Report.
Launched by Stanford AI100, the AI Index is a non-profit project that tracks trends and developments in the artificial intelligence industry. Its research covers the overall state of AI over the past century, with the goal of using data to foster broad exchange and effective dialogue around AI. Since 2017, a team led by Stanford and comprising experts from MIT, OpenAI, Harvard, McKinsey & Company, and other institutions has published an annual report observing and interpreting developments in AI from multiple angles.
Compared to the previous four editions, this year's report incorporates data from a wide range of academic, private, and non-profit organizations, and adds more original analysis based on self-collected data. On June 22, 5Y Capital will partner with AI Index's exclusive Chinese-language partner Synced to host an online event, inviting the Stanford HAI research team to deliver an official interpretation for China via livestream.

AI Index 2022 Annual Report
The 2022 annual report's Chinese edition runs 230 pages. Across five chapters — "R&D," "Technical Performance," "Technical AI Ethics," "Economy and Education," and "AI Policy and Governance" — it uses objective, impartial data to give policymakers, researchers, senior executives, journalists, and the public an intuitive grasp of this complex field.
As research on AI fairness and transparency has exploded in popularity, and algorithmic fairness and bias have shifted from niche concerns to mainstream research topics with broad impact, the AI Index Report 2022 has introduced a dedicated "Technical AI Ethics" chapter, providing in-depth analysis of technical AI ethics metrics for phenomena such as bias in language models and bias in multimodal language-vision models.

On Wednesday, June 22, 2022, Peter, 5Y Capital, will serve as special guest moderator, joining AI Index Research Manager Daniel Zhang and Stanford HAI AI Index Co-Chair, ImportAI publisher Jack Clark for a discussion of the report.
The interpretation will be livestreamed via the "Synced Mobile Group" WeChat channel, engaging with China's AI practitioners to explore AI trends. Click "Read More" to fill out a form to register for the event and obtain the Chinese-language report.
