Welcome aboard — a great workplace is one with a bunch of amazing colleagues.

Applications are now open for the new cycle of FreeS Fund's Internship Program.

This time, we're looking for 3-5 young, curious interns to join us at our Beijing office this summer. Applications close on April 30 — we encourage you to apply.

A few reasons why we're launching this new cycle:

First, the world may seem chaotic, but if we're willing to set aside emotion and return to facts, we have the opportunity to see things as they really are. Early-stage investing requires independent thinking, not following the crowd. We look forward to working with a new generation of driven individuals, staying research-driven, maintaining foresight, and exploring new paradigms in early-stage investment.

Second, the connection between science and business is growing ever tighter. More and more technological innovations are leaving the lab and entering the commercial arena. Yet the leap from science to business is never instantaneous. We want to provide a platform for exploration and growth for those who aspire to bridge these two worlds.

It's also worth noting that over the past eight years, we've had the privilege of working alongside more than 60 interns from top universities worldwide. They've approached innovation and entrepreneurship with fresh eyes, contributing many novel ideas and perspectives. We hope for more such surprises. In today's post, we've invited six former interns to share their experiences.

If you want to spend two to three months this summer understanding where industries are heading and learning the logic of early-stage investing, we'd love to have you. We believe you'll have an incredible summer. Details below:

▎Focus Areas

  • In this era of flourishing interdisciplinary innovation, every field has its own strengths and applications.
  • Based on FreeS Fund's investment thesis and portfolio, our key areas of focus include but are not limited to: consumer/TMT, AI, intelligent manufacturing, healthcare, biotech, new energy, new materials, and more.
  • Beyond investing, if you're interested in and have ideas about portfolio management, fund operations, or fundraising, you're also welcome to apply.

▎What We Look For

  • Currently pursuing a master's or doctoral degree in a relevant field;
  • Genuine interest in venture capital; intellectually sharp, honest, conscientious, diligent, and kind;
  • Strong data analysis and research capabilities; prior experience in industry or academic research preferred;
  • Prior internship experience at primary or secondary market investment institutions, or entrepreneurial experience, preferred.

▎What You'll Get

  • Work side by side and engage in face-to-face conversations with founding partner Feng Li and seasoned investors with backgrounds from top universities worldwide;
  • Conduct deep-dive research into subsectors alongside our investment team and write industry research reports;
  • Attend FreeS Fund's monthly meetings, where investment colleagues analyze cutting-edge industry trends and portfolio companies share their entrepreneurial methodologies and insights;
  • Support investors through the full investment process — sourcing, project meetings, due diligence, investment committee presentations;
  • Collaborate with our middle and back-office teams to understand portfolio companies' needs at different stages and actively provide support;
