Who We're Looking For

Biopharma Investor (VP or above, based in Beijing, Shanghai, or Shenzhen)

Job Description

  • Think independently, research-driven: continuously track and analyze the biopharma industry landscape and ecosystem, analyze business models and market dynamics, and form independent investment theses;
  • Conduct deep due diligence into company operations and details, providing solid research support for investment decisions;
  • Identify outstanding early- and growth-stage investment opportunities in biopharma, with strong ability to source potential deals and manage deal pipeline;
  • Capable of producing industry insights and contributing to cross-functional project work.

The Successful Applicant

  • 5+ years of experience at top-tier global biopharma companies, in R&D, BD, or strategy roles;
  • Deep understanding of the biopharma industry with extensive industry resources, capable of independently leading early- and growth-stage biopharma investments;
  • For institutional biopharma investors, overseas Ivy League PhD or domestic Double First Class biopharma-related PhD preferred;
  • Embraces a culture of knowledge-sharing and continuous learning;
  • Smart, principled, responsible, proactive, and genuinely kind.

Industry Research Intern (Based in Beijing, with return offer)

Job Description

  • Assist consumer, entertainment, education, technology, and healthcare teams with foundational industry research on domestic and international listed companies, providing decision-making reference;
  • Assist with investment due diligence, competitive analysis, and other research tasks;
  • Daily brainstorming and thinking sessions with Feng Shu and sector teams (this perk is exceptionally appealing)

The Successful Applicant

  • Compensation: 180 RMB/day, breakfast with bread and milk provided, all-day fruit, Coke, coffee, and endless snacks (courtesy of portfolio company Three Squirrels)
  • Graduates of top domestic or international universities, any major. As a research-driven VC, experience at top-tier VC/consulting/strategy/FA firms is a plus but not required. We value quick learners with curiosity and sensitivity, who are reliable, follow through, and organized :)

Video Content Operations Intern (Based in Beijing, with return offer)

Job Description

  • Plan, edit, produce, and distribute FreeS Fund video content;
  • Understand and deeply research user needs based on video platform characteristics, analyze operations data, and distill actionable insights;
  • Daily brainstorming and thinking sessions with Feng Shu and sector teams (this perk is exceptionally appealing)

The Successful Applicant

  • Understands the underlying logic of visual storytelling; has solid writing skills and editorial thinking; can distill material and transform written content into quality video;
  • Skilled at video planning and production; proficient in Premiere/Final Cut Pro, can work with After Effects templates; animation and 3D modeling are pluses;
  • Curious problem-solver with strong interest in consumer and frontier tech business topics; follows business reporting regularly;
  • Heavy user of Bilibili, Douyin, and other short- and mid-form video platforms; understands current content trends and visual language; has your own thinking about quality video content; active mind, creative, responsible, strong execution;
  • Return offer available; must be in office 3+ days per week (remaining days can be remote); minimum 3-month internship.

On December 28, Forbes China released its 2020 Best Venture Capitalists list. FreeS Fund founding partner Li Feng was named to "2020 Forbes China Best Venture Capitalists TOP 100," ranking 57th.

Forbes selected 100 investors with strong track records over the past five years from nearly 200 active VC firms. The average age on this list was 49; over 60% of investors made their career-defining early bets between ages 37 and 42. Fewer than 30% of portfolio companies achieved spectacular IPOs within five years of investment, while some exits required waiting over a decade. On December 19, TMTpost announced the final results of its 2020 EDGE TOP 50 Investment Firms at the EDGE Awards ceremony dinner. FreeS Fund won TMTpost's "2020 EDGE AWARDS TOP 50 Investment Firms (Hard Tech)" award.

TMTpost's 2020 EDGE TOP 50 annual selection covered five major directions: new infrastructure, digital economy, enterprise services, new consumption, and hard tech, recognizing star investment firms with both strong performance and industry influence. On December 3, the 7th China Industrial Internet Conference & 2020 Jiangsu E-Commerce Conference was held in Nanjing, guided by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Commerce and Nanjing Municipal People's Government, hosted by the Nanjing Municipal Bureau of Commerce and Jianye District People's Government, and organized by TuoBiwang.
