FreeS Fund China-US Venture Capital Forum Registration Now Open | Seizing New Opportunities in China's Era
Whether you're looking for a job or starting a company, feel free to come chat with us at FreeS Fund.

Our lives are finding their footing again.
As COVID-19 comes under control and vaccines roll out, those of you overseas may be starting to think about coming home. With graduation season approaching, founding or joining a startup is becoming an increasingly appealing path for many.
We firmly believe we stand before a historic inflection point. In his article Li Feng's 2021 Outlook: How We See China's Present and Future, Li Feng, founding partner of FreeS Fund, wrote: "In the coming 15 years, being rooted in China represents one of the best opportunities anywhere in the world. And we happen to find ourselves at the very center of it."
The IMF's World Economic Outlook shares this optimism about China's trajectory: in 2021, GDP growth is projected at 4.2% for the Euro area, 5.1% for the US, and 8.1% for China. Keep in mind that in 2020, China was already the only major economy to post positive growth.
So how do we actually seize this historic opportunity? What does China's venture capital landscape look like right now, and what new shifts and trends are emerging? What's it like to invest domestically? And how can returnee entrepreneurs maximize their advantages?
We hope to explore these questions alongside you. From late March through early May, we'll host four livestreams and one in-person seminar around the theme "Seizing China's New Era of Opportunity." Details below — scan the QR code on the poster to register.

▍Event Highlights
- "Uncle Feng" (Li Feng, founding partner of FreeS Fund), who has spent over a decade doing cross-border investment between China and the US, breaks down the macro opportunities in Chinese venture capital.
- FreeS Fund executive director Rui Ma and vice president Pengqi Liu share their firsthand experience investing in China, plus sector observations on biotech and deep tech.
- Founders from FreeS portfolio companies — Wan Xiaobo, co-founder and CEO of ChemMadison, and Wang Can, founder and CEO of PatPat — discuss the advantages and challenges of returning to China to start a company: how to build teams, find direction, and adapt to the local startup environment.
- At the FreeS Open Day on May 9, Li Feng will be joined by Tong Tao, co-founder and CEO of Muxing Technology, and Li Chongzhe, early-stage project lead at FreeS Fund and former founder of insight.io, for an open conversation about returning to China for entrepreneurship or investing — whatever you're curious about.
