FreeS Fund Is Hiring Investors | Let's Do What's Right, Not What's Easy

Lately, your social media feed has probably been flooded with layoffs and pay cuts. You may have heard the line: "2019 may be the worst year of the past decade, but it will be the best year of the next decade." We don't see it that way. We believe that everything that shaped your expectations in 2018 won't get worse in 2019 — if anything, we're seeing signals that 2019 will be better.

Because of this optimism, we opened an office in Shanghai earlier this year to better serve and support outstanding founders in East China. Now, we want to hire one investor for each of our two focus areas — consumer and deep tech — hoping to find more solid entrepreneurs.

Investing means voting with capital. Independent judgment is the core skill. Beyond that, you need to do everything possible to help portfolio companies grow, because venture capital profits from the value those companies create. • Substantial accumulation of, passion for, and curiosity about the semiconductor and integrated circuit industry.
• Continuous attention to global deep tech and hard tech developments, with original insights worth sharing.
• Ability to deeply research and understand industries and sectors, with sharp market insight. Capable of independently producing regular industry research reports with independent perspectives.
• Strong academic background in computer science, electrical engineering, microelectronics, physics, or related fields from top global universities; overseas study or work experience preferred.

In tech, we bet on technologies that drive industrial upgrading and their vertical applications. Key areas include intelligent manufacturing, medtech, AI and its vertical applications, and new energy and materials. Requirements:

• Accumulated experience, passion, and curiosity about consumer products, new retail, brand upgrading, brand innovation, and supply chain innovation.
• Continuous attention to global retail and consumption trends, with original insights worth sharing.
• Ability to deeply research and understand industries and sectors, with sharp market insight. Capable of independently producing regular industry research reports with industry voice.
• Strong academic background from top global universities; overseas study or work experience preferred.
• Product managers, product operations specialists, and business analysts from top global internet companies are welcome to apply.
