AgiBot GO-1 General Embodied Foundation Model Goes Fully Open Source | BlueRun Ventures Portfolio Headlines

Kick Off Your Embodied Intelligence Development Journey

On September 23, AgiBot announced that GO-1 (Genie Operator-1), its general-purpose embodied foundation model, is now fully open-source. This follows the January release of the AgiBot World embodied intelligence dataset with one million real-robot trajectories, marking another milestone for the company. This release makes GO-1 the world's first general-purpose embodied intelligence model built on the Vision-Language-Latent-Action (ViLLA) architecture freely available to developers worldwide, significantly lowering the barrier to entry for embodied intelligence research.

BlueRun Ventures is an early investor in AgiBot and has participated in multiple subsequent funding rounds. We believe that through continued commitment to independent innovation and ecosystem building, AgiBot will further accelerate the industry's growth.

GO-1's Vision-Language-Latent-Action (ViLLA) architecture represents a major technical breakthrough in embodied intelligence. Compared with conventional Vision-Language-Action (VLA) architectures, ViLLA bridges the semantic gap between image-text inputs and robotic action execution by introducing latent action tokens. This innovation enables robots to better understand human intent and translate it into precise physical actions.

The core of the ViLLA architecture lies in its three-layer collaborative design. The VLM multimodal understanding layer, built on InternVL-2B, processes multi-view visual images, force feedback signals, and language inputs — providing the system with robust scene perception and instruction comprehension. The Latent Planner generates implicit action tokens to enable high-level planning and understanding of complex manipulation tasks. The Action Expert, based on a diffusion model, produces high-frequency, high-precision continuous action sequences, ensuring the robot can execute fine-grained manipulation tasks.

Genie Studio is AgiBot's one-stop development platform purpose-built for embodied intelligence scenarios, offering developers and partners a full-stack solution covering the entire workflow: data collection, data management, model training and fine-tuning, simulation evaluation, model building, and deployment. The platform provides GO-1 as a ready-to-use foundation model, integrating Video Training solutions and a unified training framework with a complete built-in toolchain. It enables one-click compilation and deployment on real robots, significantly improving development efficiency and accelerating the practical application of embodied intelligence technology.

Although GO-1 was pre-trained solely on AgiBot G1 robot data, the model has been thoroughly validated on diverse robot platforms including AgileX Robotics, Ark Robotics, and Franka robotic arms. These cross-platform validation results demonstrate GO-1's strong transferability, with the ability to adapt to different robots' kinematic properties and control interfaces. In simulation benchmarks, GO-1 achieved state-of-the-art performance on leading platforms including Genie Sim and Libero.

For real-world deployment, GO-1 is designed to accommodate diverse robot platforms. Beyond Genie Studio's end-to-end support for Genie G1 data collection, model fine-tuning, and deployment, the model also integrates the general-purpose LeRobot data format to enable data collection, fine-tuning, and deployment on other robot platforms.

Through Genie Studio, GO-1 achieved leading performance against other SOTA models in real-world experiments on the Genie G1 robot.
