Zean Bioscience Charts a New Course for Autoimmune Disease Treatment

LTZ Therapeutics' global first-in-class "Myeloid Engager" immunotherapy platform joins forces with Eli Lilly and Company's world-class R&D and commercial expertise to blaze a new trail in immunotherapy for autoimmune diseases. On July 29, 2025, LTZ Therapeutics (hereinafter "LTZ" or "the Company") announced a major strategic partnership with global pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly and Company (NYSE: LLY) to develop novel "Myeloid Engager Therapeutics" targeting specific targets for the treatment of autoimmune diseases with substantial unmet medical needs. LTZ has long been dedicated to cancer, autoimmune diseases, and other major diseases, committed to developing novel immunotherapies based on its "Myeloid Engager" technology platform. Under the terms of the agreement, LTZ will receive tens of millions of dollars in upfront payments and an equity investment from Eli Lilly and Company. In addition, LTZ is eligible to receive potential milestone payments across preclinical, clinical, regulatory, and commercial stages of drug development. Upon commercialization of relevant products, the Company will further receive tiered royalties based on net sales.
BlueRun Ventures stated: LTZ is a global leader in myeloid engager technology. BlueRun Ventures participated in LTZ's Series A+ financing round this year. This landmark collaboration further validates that the Company's innovative platform has earned recognition from top-tier global MNCs. We look forward to leveraging Eli Lilly and Company's global resource advantages through this partnership to accelerate the progression of pipeline candidates based on LTZ's "Myeloid Engager" platform from the laboratory to the clinic, achieving breakthrough clinical efficacy.
Dr. Robert Li, Founder and CEO of LTZ, said:
"We are delighted to establish a strategic partnership with Eli Lilly and Company, a global leader in immunology. This represents not only a pivotal milestone in LTZ's development journey but also strong recognition of the scientific breakthrough, clinical value, and commercial potential of our 'Myeloid Engager' technology platform. Since its founding, LTZ has been mission-driven to 'unlock the biological potential of myeloid cells and address unmet clinical needs.' This collaboration will fully leverage Eli Lilly and Company's global R&D expertise, commercial network, and resource advantages to accelerate the progression of 'Myeloid Engager' pipeline candidates from the laboratory to the clinic, striving to bring breakthrough treatment options to patients in urgent need of innovative therapies as soon as possible."
About the "Myeloid Engager" Technology Platform
As the Company's core technology engine, LTZ's proprietary "Myeloid Engager" platform is rooted in "Reverse Translational Science" and deep understanding of "myeloid cell biology." The platform precisely targets specific myeloid cell subsets (such as macrophages) to dynamically modulate immune system homeostasis — in autoimmune diseases, it can curb overactive immune responses and restore immune balance; in oncology, it can disrupt the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment and effectively activate anti-tumor immune responses. This unique and innovative mechanism holds promise for overcoming drug resistance while significantly enhancing efficacy, laying a solid foundation for the development of next-generation immunotherapies.
