BlueRun Ventures Continues Backing, Angel-Stage Project Yangshan Medical Completes Pre-A Round | BlueRun Portfolio
"Medical-Engineering Integration" for Better Assistance

Shanghai Yangshan Medical Technology (Yangshan Medical), a company developing surgical robots for oral surgery, recently completed a pre-Series A funding round of tens of millions of RMB. The round was co-led by Shanlan Capital and YuanYi Capital, with BlueRun Ventures, the company's angel investor, continuing to invest additional capital.

BlueRun Ventures stated: "We remain firmly bullish on Yangshan Medical's core competitiveness and its potential to lead the industry. Over the two years since our initial investment, we have witnessed the company's rapid breakthroughs in core technology and its steady growth. The team's commitment to technological innovation, its precise grasp of market demand, and the differentiated moat it has built in this niche segment are the core reasons we chose to continue investing additional capital. The high-quality development of the robotics industry requires long-term, deep commitment. This follow-on investment represents both strong recognition of Yangshan Medical's past achievements and firm confidence in the clinical advancement and commercialization prospects of the company's products."

Shanghai Yangshan Medical Technology leverages robotics, artificial intelligence, and passive innovative medical devices as tools to provide end-to-end solutions for oral and maxillofacial surgery. Its self-developed China's first unobstructed surgical robot is set to be deployed in dental implant surgery, offering core advantages including true zero-registration, unobstructed field of view, anti-interference capability, fast procedure times, short learning curve, and miniaturized form factor. Combined with the company's AI technology platform, it assists surgeons in performing oral procedures efficiently and precisely. Another product, the Dental Implant Distractor (DID), is a world-first innovation that revolutionizes the traditional vascularized fibula graft technique used in mandibular defect reconstruction. This achievement received a Second Prize in the 2019 State Scientific and Technological Progress Awards and entered the National Medical Products Administration's Special Review Procedure for Innovative Medical Devices in 2025.

Yangshan Medical founder Shang Zhang said: "We are grateful to our investors for their continued recognition and support of Yangshan. Going forward, we will remain deeply committed to the digital healthcare space, using AI and robotics as our tools and clinical needs as our foundation, pursuing the ultimate integration of medicine and engineering. We strive to provide better assistance to patients and medical professionals alike, and to make greater contributions to the advancement of our industry."
