Two Years In, $200 Million in Sales: Viture Tops Amazon's Smart Glasses Category | BlueRun Ventures Headlines
*TIME*'s Best Inventions list: the only consumer AR/VR device to make the cut

Last September, Meta and Ray-Ban launched their second-generation smart glasses, the Ray-Ban Meta, priced from $299. This generation still lacks an optical display, but packs the latest Qualcomm AR1 processor, upgrades the camera to 12 megapixels, supports livestreaming directly to Facebook and Instagram from the glasses, and further reduces weight while improving the built-in speakers. The biggest change from the first generation, however, is the integration of Meta's own large language model, Meta AI. Using the camera, built-in microphones, and speakers, users can perform simple tasks like object recognition and conversational Q&A through Meta AI. Third-party sources claim total sales of the Ray-Ban Meta have now exceeded one million units, making it a bonafide hit in tech circles, with a solid 4.2/5 user rating on Amazon North America.
Yet here's the interesting part: the product currently dominating Amazon's smart glasses category is actually another device — the latest XR glasses from VITURE, the VITURE Pro XR. This discovery piqued our curiosity about the VITURE brand, and deeper research revealed an even more astonishing rapid rise. Founded in August 2021, VITURE had already surpassed 100 million RMB in sales by its second anniversary last year, and now has blown past 200 million, becoming the new darling of international XR/AR brands.

The VITURE Pro series makes its stunning overseas debut
So who exactly is VITURE, and how did it achieve such impressive results? Let's start with the latest VITURE Pro:
The VITURE Pro launched in North America this May. If the Ray-Ban Meta could be called "GPT on your nose bridge," then the VITURE Pro is essentially "a private cinema on your nose bridge." The glasses feature the latest generation Sony Micro-OLED optical engine, which projects images from connected phones, gaming consoles, or computers onto a massive virtual screen equivalent to 135 inches at 3 meters away, with full-field ultra-clarity as its main selling point. The screen resolution is 1080P, with refresh rate upgraded to 120Hz, further satisfying the needs of gamers.
Peak screen brightness reaches an industry-leading 4,000 nits. The biggest display improvement in the VITURE Pro comes from the company's self-developed UltraClarity™ technology, which eliminates the edge blurring common in content consumption glasses, allowing users to clearly read even tiny text.
This technology, combined with VITURE's newly launched SpaceWalker XR multi-screen office software for MacBook, has won over large numbers of business professionals and programmers with office needs. Through SpaceWalker, users can expand into three virtual large screens within the glasses, freely switching between screen arrangements, with even an ultra-wide curved screen option, dramatically boosting productivity for MacBook users. Top tech media outlet XDA didn't hold back, calling SpaceWalker "the best software in the AR/XR glasses industry right now."

While Apple Vision Pro has announced but not yet delivered curved screen support, overseas users have already experienced it first on the VITURE Pro
In fact, it's not just top tech media XDA — since its launch, the VITURE Pro has received overwhelmingly positive reviews from North American tech media:
"If you're looking for the best of the best, look no further than VITURE." — Tom's Guide
"We recommend the VITURE Pro without reservation, for its unparalleled display quality!" — PCMag
"There are indeed quite a few Smart Glasses with displays on the market, but none can compare to the VITURE Pro." — AndroidCentral

VITURE is the only consumer XR product besides Apple Vision Pro to receive TIME's Best Inventions of the Year, and has also swept all of the world's top design awards
The VITURE Pro has already won "Editor's Choice" awards from numerous top tech media outlets including CNET, Tom's Guide, Mashable, and PCMag. ZDNET called the VITURE Pro "an almost perfect great product." Gaming media MMORPG dubbed it "the only AR glasses that can replace a TV."

Additionally, the electrochromic technology first pioneered by VITURE has been upgraded in this generation. In immersion mode, the glasses' light blocking rate can be adjusted to 99.5% at the press of a button, blocking out virtually all ambient light, allowing users to enjoy content with cinematic immersion in any environment. The VITURE Pro also retains the built-in HARMAN stereo speakers and 0-500 degree myopia adjustment dial that were well-received in the previous generation, and again obtains SGS A+ low visual fatigue certification, remaining friendly to nearsighted users while maximizing eye protection.

As the current flagship product with the highest specs in its category, the VITURE Pro is priced at $459 — the highest among similar products — yet this hasn't dampened North American consumers' enthusiasm for purchasing these glasses. Over the past two months, the VITURE Pro has sold out multiple times, and is currently out of stock on the official website in addition to Amazon. On the Amazon platform, the VITURE Pro has achieved an overall high rating of 4.2. Considering that most products in this category score below 4, achieving 4.2 from demanding North American consumers is truly a standout performance.

Launched alongside the VITURE Pro glasses is the new must-have accessory for Switch, the VITURE Pro Mobile Dock, as well as a limited-edition gaming controller in collaboration with "national pride" brand 8BitDo. The Pro Mobile Dock allows the Switch, which doesn't support direct DP output, to transmit its display to the glasses while providing up to 8 hours of battery life for gaming.

The Pro Mobile Dock's dual glasses ports also support the industry's only local two-player co-op gaming feature, allowing players to enjoy multiplayer games like It Takes Two and Mario Kart through the glasses. Connecting a phone to the Mobile Dock Pro unlocks two-person movie viewing, even supporting 3D format video playback.

VITURE is currently the only XR system on the market with seamless two-person movie viewing/gaming support
The collaboration controller is based on 8BitDo's Orion Young design, with keys rearranged to the classic Xbox layout, featuring the same black-orange color scheme and semi-transparent material as the Pro glasses and Pro Mobile Dock, perfectly compatible with gaming consoles like Switch as well as the VITURE Neckband. Its high aesthetic design, similar to the Steam Deck OLED limited edition, has sparked strong purchasing interest among North American gaming enthusiasts.

Currently, VITURE has not yet revealed plans for a domestic Chinese launch of the Pro glasses. However, given its sellout success in the North American market, it may be some time before the VITURE Pro reaches Chinese consumers. That said, VITURE has indicated it will continue releasing multiple new products in the second half of this year, with the first announcement likely to be an updated version of a core accessory that hasn't yet seen iteration — the successor to the VITURE Neckband, known as the "game console around your neck."

VITURE Neckband — The author has already experienced all of VITURE's newly released products, using the Pro glasses connected to Steam Deck or the VITURE Neckband to stream and play the recently released Elden Ring DLC. The high-definition giant screen in the glasses combined with the electrochromic film's ultra-immersive experience brought the game's Shadow Realm to vivid life, making it hard to put down. The unrestricted freedom of posture also greatly accommodated my battered cervical spine and lower back, significantly extending my play sessions. Connecting the glasses to my phone, watching Euro matches late at night while lying in bed has become a recent daily routine, and when I truly can't stay awake, I can just take off the glasses and fall asleep in a second...

About VITURE: Founded in San Francisco in 2021, the founding team hails from internationally renowned tech giants including Google and Apple. With a strong R&D team, the company developed the world's first XR product compatible with all gaming console platforms and equipped with cloud computing units, dedicated to building next-generation premium smart audiovisual entertainment products. In May 2022, VITURE's first-generation product, the VITURE One, raised over $3 million in a single month on overseas crowdfunding platform Kickstarter, breaking Oculus's previous record of $2.4 million, causing a sensation in the industry and attracting coverage from major media including TIME and Forbes. After its official U.S. direct-to-consumer launch in 2023, it sparked frenzied consumer demand, selling out within days. That same year, VITURE concluded its Japanese crowdfunding campaign on Makuake with 186 million yen, ranking first in Japanese crowdfunding history for AR/VR category and first in smart hardware category, sparking coverage and discussion from major media including NHK, Japanese gaming influencers, and a wave of offline fan trials and purchases. This March, VITURE officially entered the Chinese market, achieving first place on Tmall's XR device bestseller list in its debut month, causing a major stir among domestic gaming communities. Let's wait and see for the official Chinese launch of the VITURE Pro!
