Partnering with China Mobile Cloud VR, NOLO Wants to Give You a "Tech-Forward" World Cup | BlueRun Ventures Headlines
A Different Way to Watch the World Cup
This year's World Cup in Qatar — are you still sitting alone in front of the TV? BlueRun Ventures portfolio company NOLO has teamed up with China Mobile Cloud VR to help you "experience the World Cup in a whole new way."
From November 21 to December 18, during the tournament, users simply need to put on a NOLO Sonic or CM1 headset, open China Mobile Cloud VR, and unlock an entirely new World Cup experience — from online viewing to a second arena; from a private virtual pod for solo immersion to a hundred-person football party where the atmosphere hits different. In short, not a single moment of all 64 matches will be missed.
Hundred-Person Viewing, Atmosphere Amplified: Football Carnival Yeah! The communal狂欢 of watching together is a huge part of what makes the World Cup special. Fans from all corners gather purely out of shared passion, cheering wildly or groaning in unison at the action on the pitch. NOLO and China Mobile Cloud VR's "Football Carnival Yeah!" enables multiplayer online communication, co-viewing, and real-time bullet comments — a hundred people watching together, with the vibe turned up to eleven.
"Football Carnival Yeah!" leverages cloud rendering capabilities to deliver a 3D interactive, fully immersive viewing mode. It innovatively repackages top-tier sports content for VR interactivity and cloud rendering output, integrating 4K 2D match footage into virtual viewing environments. Users interact as digital avatars, watch 360° panoramic livestreams, and engage through lightweight interactions like bubble bullet comments, driving their digital doppelgängers to perform actions and sense interaction data.
Through professional broadcast capabilities, "Football Carnival Yeah!" dramatically enriches the viewing experience within 3D virtual spaces, triggering real-time scene effects, dynamic lighting, character animations, and atmospheric sound design to elevate the virtual stadium energy and drive user engagement. By streamifying live broadcasts across multiple product endpoints, it transforms match streaming into contextualized scenes, virtualizes livestream audiences, and visualizes user interactions — achieving hundred-person simultaneous interaction in VR and delivering a viewing experience that transcends traditional livestreaming.
Virtual Viewing Pod: 4K Giant Screen, Immersive Matches Limited space killing the vibe? China Mobile Cloud VR has built a brand new World Cup 4K giant screen viewing pod, embedding a virtual curved display with the visual equivalent of nearly 200 inches. The design accounts for VR headset FOV, human interpupillary distance, and viewing distance to optimally align with natural eye angles, creating a more comfortable and human-centric visual experience.
Meanwhile, the World Cup's ultra-HD 4K 50fps livestream will be displayed in full within the viewing pod, with real-time match information dynamically rendered on the virtual big screen for a powerfully immersive, wraparound experience. Put on a NOLO Sonic or M1 VR headset and unleash your World Cup passion in a virtual world.
Non-Stop Action at World Cup Second Venues Beyond the fully immersive VR experience, NOLO will also partner with Migu to launch offline World Cup second venues in Beijing, Chengdu, Nanjing, Wuxi, and other cities during the tournament. Fans can watch and discuss together in person, witnessing every spectacular moment of the World Cup.
On-site VR viewing zones will also be available. Visitors seeking an even closer perspective can head to the VR experience area, put on the CM1 — the first cloud VR all-in-one headset co-launched by NOLO and China Mobile — and instantly "arrive" at the main stadium in Qatar.
