This year marks the ninth year of Kantar and Google's collaboration exploring the globalization of Chinese brands. The study continues to use the Kantar Brand Power model as its core framework, with deep focus on global consumers' brand perception and evolving needs. Through quantitative analysis of three key brand dimensions — Meaningful, Different, and Salient — the evaluation ultimately covers 11 major global markets and 15 core industries.
Addressing export potential and overseas market development trends, the organizers selected 11 markets across different geographic regions (including both developed and emerging markets): Australia, Brazil, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, Spain, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
For the selection process, building on years of accumulated brand databases, the organizers incorporated expert opinions on market brands across various sectors to iteratively update the brand pool. This year, combining the accumulated brand database with professional insights from industry experts, the final list was determined through brand power score rankings.
The main research was conducted on Kantar's Profiles platform. The survey used the standard Kantar BrandZ questionnaire, with Kantar's standard model system automatically calculating each brand's overall preliminary brand power across the 11 markets by category. Brand power represents consumers' propensity to choose a particular brand. Meanwhile, Kantar calculated each brand's scores on "Meaningful" and "Different" based on survey responses, and combined consumer behavioral data to calculate "Salient." Consumer behavioral data was provided by Google's internal Brand Tracker platform, including traffic to brand official websites, active users of brand apps, and search indices for brands on Google and YouTube.
Kantar found that in 2024, overseas consumers' attention to brand value increased significantly. Research data shows that 47% of consumers broke from habitual choices and actively switched to new brands at the same or even higher price points; entering 2025, the global consumer market demonstrated a more open and inclusive posture, with up to 81% of respondents explicitly expressing willingness to try new brands. This shift profoundly reflects the trend of global consumer transformation.
