· MIT Technology Review's 50 Smartest Companies list
According to the MIT Technology Review's definition, smart companies should possess two characteristics: intelligently developing and using new technologies, and intelligently understanding market and commercial opportunities. They blaze trails through technological innovation, combine sustainable business models, and extend technology's impact globally. Since establishing the "50 Smartest Companies" selection in 2010, the MIT Technology Review has been committed to uncovering innovation-driven enterprises with global influence. In 2019, the MIT Technology Review first introduced the concept of "China Pivot," bringing the "50 Smartest Companies" (TR50) selection to China. In each subsequent selection, the MIT Technology Review has proposed different core concepts based on technological developments and evolving trends, such as "China Focus" in 2020 and "China Leads" in 2021.
This year, guided by "Breaking Boundaries" and focused on "China's Future," the MIT Technology Review comprehensively analyzed multiple dimensions including technological innovation capability, globalization capacity, and commercialization ability to examine innovative forces that are "in China, by China, for China" — identifying through sustained technological, paradigmatic, and domain breakthroughs which enterprises will be capable of leading the next wave of technological development in China and worldwide.
In the current industrial transformation, smart technology companies are no longer pursuing single-point performance optimization, but rather systematic integration of emerging technologies through continuous technological innovation.**
