AI in China ②: "We're a Billion-RMB Company Now, and AI Helped Us Grow Revenue Another 30%" | Case Studies and Insights from Nuanwa Technology and Baiyaoshi

"My conviction in AI keeps growing."

In a previous episode of Crossing, titled "[AI in China: 10 Enterprise Deployment Cases and Their Business Implications | A Conversation with Mars Ren, Partner at Sky9 Capital][1]", we introduced ten cases of AI deployment at Chinese companies — and the response was overwhelmingly positive.

Among these ten cases, Nuwa Technology (a 1-billion-yuan insurance tech company) and Baiyaoshi (the AI innovation arm of a ten-thousand-store pharmacy chain) stood out as the most representative.

So today, we've invited the operators and business leads behind them to share these companies' AI stories in greater depth.

In AI applications, one persistent talking point has been that AI apps have yet to find strong PMF (Product-Market Fit). Is this actually true?

A few months ago, we put forward this view: The current wave of AI isn't lacking PMF — rather, many PMFs are already taking root inside well-run enterprises, mainly deployed for cost reduction and efficiency gains rather than offered externally as products or services, which is why they remain invisible to the outside world.

While these practices at leading companies may not translate directly into startup opportunities, they do prove AI's business value. As technology matures and large model costs continue to fall, AI will inevitably expand to benefit more enterprises and consumers, creating more entrepreneurial opportunities in the process.
