Gartner: 64% Resist AI Customer Service
A new Gartner survey report found that 64% of respondents do not want AI deployed in customer service systems. Respondents generally worry that AI may fail to accurately understand complex issues, lacks humanized communication, and poses security risks and privacy leaks when handling sensitive information.
Despite AI's advantages in improving customer service efficiency and reducing costs, the public remains cautious about new technology applications. Gartner analysts recommend that companies evaluate potential risks when introducing AI customer service systems, ensure user information security and communication experience, and prioritize technology transparency and explainability. The report also suggests strengthening AI system security and privacy protection, and clearly explaining to users the capabilities and limitations of AI systems.
OpenAI CEO Launches New Company
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Thrive Global CEO Arianna Huffington announced in Time magazine the co-founding of a new company called Thrive AI Health.
The company will be funded by the OpenAI Startup Fund[1] and Thrive Global, with former Google health and wearables lead DeCarlos Love serving as CEO. Thrive AI Health will focus on building an "AI health coach," delivered through a mobile app.
Altman also expressed hope that this AI application could leverage science and behavioral change methods to provide users with precise health advice, address everyday health issues, and allow more people to benefit from health equity.
Samsung Lands First 2nm Chip Order
Samsung Electronics confirmed it has won an order from Japanese AI company Preferred Networks (PFN) to manufacture AI chips using its 2nm foundry process and advanced chip packaging services. PFN Vice President and CTO of Computing Architecture Junichiro Makino also confirmed in a statement that Samsung's chips will be used in PFN's high-performance computing hardware to build large language models and other applications.
This marks Samsung's first officially announced cutting-edge 2nm chip foundry order. The collaboration is seen as a milestone for both the AI industry and the chip foundry sector. For PFN, securing the most advanced 2nm chips strengthens its competitive edge; for Samsung, this contract represents a crucial victory in its challenge to TSMC's dominance.
Technically, Samsung plans to begin high-volume 2nm production for mobile applications in 2025, expand to high-performance computing chips in 2026, and enter automotive chips in 2027. Industry analysts believe Samsung may gain an edge in the 2nm race because it adopted GAA technology earlier than TSMC.
Additionally, Samsung is preparing to attract customers with discounted pricing on its 2nm process, particularly for Qualcomm's orders. Currently, Qualcomm has commissioned both TSMC and Samsung for 2nm chip development and trial production. Samsung's partnership with PFN, combined with TSMC's solid Apple orders, suggests Qualcomm may become the key battleground for these two companies in the next phase.

Tencent Zenvideo: Stylized Video Feature Goes Live
Tencent's Zenvideo mini-program has launched a new AI video feature that allows users to convert videos into anime style with one click (supporting 10-second clips), currently offered for free for a limited time. Through the mini-program, users select a video and apply a template to quickly obtain a video with anime effects — enhancing visual appeal and enriching storytelling.
Since its launch in March 2023, Zenvideo has integrated various AI creation tools including virtual digital humans, text-to-speech, and intelligent watermark removal. Its digital human feature can even clone appearance and voice. Zenvideo also offers dynamic comic generation, allowing users to create comic videos from their own scripts, further expanding creative possibilities.
Zhou Hongyi: The LLM Track Is Very Wide
360 Group founder Zhou Hongyi expressed an optimistic outlook on the future impact of large model technology. He believes that over the next 10 to 20 years, large models will profoundly transform the world. Zhou emphasized that unlike operating systems, large models will become an integral component of society's digital infrastructure.
He noted that opportunities in AI are extraordinarily broad — not just for internet giants, but equally for traditional enterprises and entrepreneurs. Zhou used the electric motor as an analogy to explain that large model capabilities must be integrated with specific work and life scenarios to become actual products that can be widely deployed across industries.
Zhou also mentioned that traditional enterprises and governments can customize specialized large models based on their own business scenarios. He foresees a future where large models are everywhere — even within a single company, dozens of large models may work in coordination to meet diverse business needs.
Moonshot AI Founder Endorses Alibaba Cloud
At Hangzhou Xiaoshan Airport, an eye-catching billboard featured Moonshot AI founder Zhilin Yang and Zhaopin Group CEO Zhang Yuejia endorsing Alibaba Cloud. This marks the second publicized collaboration between the two parties, following Alibaba Cloud's disclosed investment in Moonshot AI. Yang's tagline — "The cloud I use is Alibaba Cloud" — echoes Alibaba Cloud founder Wang Jian's statement that "the relationship between cloud computing and GPT is like that between electricity and the electric motor."

Alibaba's investments in AI large models now cover five of China's leading large model unicorns: Moonshot AI, MiniMax, Zhipu AI, Baichuan AI, and 01.AI. In its investment in Moonshot AI, Alibaba contributed not only cash but also Alibaba Cloud computing power as part of the deal, strengthening its partnership with large model companies. This investor-plus-computing-supplier model tightly binds Alibaba Cloud with these star companies, jointly advancing large model technology development.
