Throwing a 100-day banquet for the "Crossing" podcast — our troublemaking extrovert selves welcome you to keep co-creating energy with us

After "Crossing" hit 100 days on air and crossed 5,000 subscribers, we slapped our thighs and made a call: let's throw a party!

The Crossing podcast hit 100 days and 5,000+ subscribers, so we slapped the table and made a call: let's throw a party!

100-Day Celebration

For various reasons, we only had two weeks to pull this together. Wanting to keep it "small and beautiful," we initially told our venue partner, LFSky Center, to plan for 50 people. We completely didn't expect that less than 48 hours after the poster dropped, all 100 tickets sold out — so we had to shut down sales to control quality. (Sorry to everyone who later asked about tickets; we'll definitely meet again next time.)

When we scouted the venue beforehand, we discovered that the top floor of LFSky offers a 360-degree view of the Shanghai skyline. That feeling of "owning" the city — we couldn't wait to share it with everyone.

So. May 25. Beautiful weather. From 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., packed solid. A live linkup with Silicon Valley. Discussion of GPT-4o. A PMF session where every guest stood up to share. And finally, demos from five AI-related projects...

The feedback we heard most: people felt the positive energy here. So much so that even after we'd left, several groups were still holding their own "side meetings."

Mission accomplished: find more fellow travelers, collectively complete a deeply connected shared action.

We later learned that some friends came from as close as Hangzhou and as far as Guangxi and Shenzhen. One friend flew in and back the same day just for this. Thank you all for the support. As we said from the start, this was our first event and prep was rushed — no need to be forgiving, call out our shortcomings directly. We hope to keep creating and sharing energy with more of you at future events.

Finally, another thank you to everyone who sent gifts to Crossing, to our partners, every speaker, and everyone who came. See you at the next one!

Thank Yous

Grateful for the love from friends. CITIC, Martell, SATURNBIRD, AAAD, S.Pellegrino, The Fair, QuadHA, and Haro Marketing sent all kinds of gifts — so there was coffee, dessert, books, and drinks on hand.

Thanks to our co-organizers: aligns.ai (an active Stanford-based Silicon Valley nonprofit AI community) and the CPA Chinese Podcast Community.

Special thanks to my good friend zzh, founder of AAAD, who sent a whole table of beautiful madeleines as our 100-day celebration cake. Stunning!
