We built a pop-up space in Shanghai. Come daydream with AI.

At the crossing of technology and the humanities, let's turn dreams into reality.

We Built a Pop-Up Space!

Imagine this: you're given 300 square meters at the heart of China's biggest tech summit. No client brief. No constraints. Total creative freedom — what would you do?

— That's exactly the opportunity we got!

Next week, Crossing will set up a pop-up space at this year's Amazon Web Services Summit China: the "🎪 AI Daydream Stage" — a place to daydream with AI.

We've got a marathon of open-mic AI sessions running from dawn till dusk, super cool startups demoing their products live, and two fun projects our team built ourselves through vibe coding.

Who says only consumer brands can do pop-ups?

When geeks do pop-ups, that's Next Level.

① Non-Stop AI Open Mic All Day

Open mic has always been a signature of Crossing's offline events.

At this "AI Daydream Stage," Crossing is bringing a marathon AI open mic that runs from morning till evening.

Kicking off with Koji's talk "2025: Halfway Through, 10 Aha Moments Brought by AI," the day will feature more than a dozen speakers — a new generation of AI founders, indie developers, product managers, and creators — each taking the stage to share their stories.

Confirmed open mic speakers so far:

  • Koji, founder of Crossing, initiator of AI Hacker House
  • Ryan, founder/CEO of Spark Lab
  • Mouna, APJC Developer Relations Lead at Amazon Web Services
  • Ryan Zhu, initiator of AdventureX
  • Jing, product manager at Zhipu AI
  • Haitao Fang, founder/CEO of Sealos/FastGPT
  • Jerry, founder/CEO of Action & Link
  • Rui Qin, co-founder of BISHENG
  • Baoyang Chen, young faculty at Central Academy of Fine Arts
  • Elanne Wang, founder of ConvoLens
  • ……

We've also reserved some slots for walk-in speakers from the audience. We're especially hoping for talks that feel a little impromptu, a little impulsive — because we believe:

A rough start beats calculated hibernation.

② We Built a Machine That Makes Daydreams Come True

The Crossing team designed and vibe-coded this "machine."

This machine can make your daydreams come true.

Come to the "🎪 AI Daydream Stage" pop-up, tell this machine the wildest daydream in your head, and we'll use AI to make it tangible — turning it into an image of your dream come true, printed on a card.

From hundreds of AI-generated illustrations, we ultimately chose the style provided by Recraft.

It balances childlike whimsy with mature sophistication — a "Kidult" aesthetic that's perfect for immersing adults in the world of daydreams.

This isn't just creative release — it's the experience of making a dream land.

③ We Also Built an "AI Millionaire" Quiz Machine

Remember the TV show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? Answer the challenge questions right, and you unlock a cash prize worth millions.

To recreate that experience at our pop-up, we chose Lovable from among various AI coding tools and spent less than half a day vibe-coding this fun "AI Millionaire" quiz machine.

Friends who know us well understand that the name "Crossing" comes from Steve Jobs's metaphor for Apple: standing at the intersection of technology and liberal arts, where great products are born.

So we fed this "AI Millionaire" machine two kinds of questions: some on AI and tech, others on humanities and art.

For example:

  • Has Sam Altman been the only CEO of OpenAI since its founding?
  • Who was the first Chinese writer to win the Nobel Prize in Literature?
  • What high-performance chip does Amazon Web Services provide for training large models?
  • …🤐 That's all the spoilers you get

On-site, each time you fire up the "AI Millionaire" machine, you'll get three random questions on AI or the humanities. Answer all three correctly and you'll win merch from the "🎪 AI Daydream Stage."

At the Crossing where technology and liberal arts meet, infinite possibilities await.

④ We Invited Two Super Cool Startups to Join Us

Action & Link Motion Controller

Amazon Web Services asked us to invite the coolest startups in our circle to come play.

We invited the Action & Link team, and they immediately said yes to joining the "🎪 AI Daydream Stage."

Action & Link is a startup I deeply admire — innovative, execution-driven, and grand prize winner of this year's Xiaohongshu Indie Developer Competition.

Come try Action & Link at the pop-up — use your body to control game characters, turning ordinary games into motion-controlled experiences.

Step into your favorite game world for an exhilarating athletic adventure.

👋 Bonjour! Digital Business Card

We also invited 👋 Bonjour! Digital Business Card to join the "🎪 AI Daydream Stage."

Vincent and his Gen Z team, known for their exceptional taste, specially designed an NFC digital business card for this pop-up. Every visitor can claim one for free.

Bonjour digital business cards are NFC-powered personality cards for tech creators — the perfect way to show what makes you unique.

Talk is cheap. Show me the code.

⑤ See You at the Stage. Be There or Be Square.

The "🎪 AI Daydream Stage" pop-up we're building is just the tip of the iceberg at the 2025 Amazon Web Services Summit China.

This two-day summit is basically the annual carnival for tech geeks. The lineup is stacked, covering everything from generative AI to cloud computing, with 40+ technical forums, hands-on labs, challenges, and immersive exhibition zones.

⑥ One More Thing: People Who Dream Have All the Luck

To make sure everyone who comes to daydream at our pop-up leaves with good fortune — we designed three small pieces of merch, free for every visitor to the "🎪 AI Daydream Stage" pop-up.

Each piece comes with a little action prompt for daydreaming:

  1. Put on the eye mask — daydream whenever you want
  2. Slap on the sticker — announce your daydream to the world
  3. Keep the pen handy — record daydreams anywhere, anytime

🚥

Looking forward to meeting you at the "🎪 AI Daydream Stage" at the 2025 Amazon Web Services Summit China.

At the crossing of technology and liberal arts, let's turn dreams into reality.
