$464M in 3 Months: Lingang Lab Spinoff Zhudong Technology Closes $464M Angel+ Round | Dalton Venture Family
Recently, Dalton Venture portfolio company Zhudong Technology announced the completion of a 4.

Background
Recently, Zhudong Technology, a Dalton Venture portfolio company, announced the completion of a RMB 464 million angel+ round. As an angel-round investor in Zhudong Technology, Dalton Venture continued to invest in this round, reaffirming its confidence in the company's long-term growth. The round was co-led by Gaorong Ventures, Shanghai SDIC Pioneer Fund, and Shanghai Science and Technology Innovation Group, with participation from Bayland Capital, China Internet Investment Fund, Guotai Haitong Securities, Shanghai Pudong Venture Capital Co., Ltd., Shanghai Science and Technology Innovation Fund, Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Capital, Minhang Investment, and Yunqi Capital.
Following the announcement of its RMB 330 million angel round on August 3, Zhudong Technology has once again garnered support from both new and existing investors in under three months, bringing total funding across both rounds to approximately RMB 800 million.
Based on publicly disclosed financing information to date, this round sets a domestic record for angel+ funding in the brain-computer interface (BCI) field. The combined angel and angel+ rounds also establish a record for total angel-series funding in China's BCI sector.
This financing will support the company's continued advancement of invasive BCI research, clinical translation, and industrialization efforts, while creating conditions for further industry partnerships.
Deepening Full-Stack R&D,
Advancing Brain-Computer Interfaces Toward Clinical Application
Founded in February 2026, Zhudong Technology focuses on the research, development, and commercialization of invasive brain-computer interface technology. Guided by clinical needs, the company has developed full-stack in-house capabilities spanning flexible electrodes, specialized chips, algorithms, and system integration, while building a product portfolio across three BCI domains: motor, visual, and emotional.
Its flagship motor BCI product, "Tianshu," targets motor and speech impairments caused by stroke, spinal cord injury, ALS, and other conditions — aiming to help patients restore motor function and their ability to interact with the external world. In November 2025, the company's core team achieved a type inspection report for its 1,024-channel invasive BCI system, laying groundwork for subsequent clinical research and product translation. Visual and emotional BCI product lines are being developed in parallel, drawing on the team's scientific research in these areas to expand applications for diverse clinical needs.
Looking ahead, Zhudong Technology will continue advancing core technology development and clinical translation across its three product lines — motor, visual, and emotional — while refining its R&D, production, and quality management systems and strengthening engineering and industrialization capabilities. While focusing on Class III medical devices and patient needs, the company will also explore convergence between BCI and artificial intelligence, embodied artificial intelligence, and related fields, enabling technological innovation to benefit a broader user base.

Guojia Wu, CEO of Zhudong Technology
Guojia Wu, CEO of Zhudong Technology, stated: "We are grateful for the trust that new and existing shareholders have placed in Zhudong Technology. These consecutive funding rounds provide more substantial support for our next phase of development. We will translate this trust into concrete work across R&D, clinical programs, and team building — with clear stage-by-stage objectives for each of our three product lines, and a rigorous focus on product validation and engineering. Our long-term goal is to build a BCI technology platform capable of supporting multiple applications and continuous iteration. Medical needs are the starting point for our current work and an important benchmark for validating technological value. On this foundation, we will gradually explore integration with artificial intelligence and embodied artificial intelligence, expanding the ways humans can communicate and collaborate with external devices. We hope that solid, incremental progress will sustain this long-term development path, with investment ultimately manifesting as tangible change that patients and users can experience."
