In ten hours, the doors of the Las Vegas Convention Center will open.

If you're weaving through the CES before-parties right now, you might be struck by something: the sheer density of Chinese faces. In years past, Chinese exhibitors were plenty, but they were mostly buyers and traders. This year, everyone is here to see something new.

This is also the year when, anecdotally, the most founders and investors in our orbit at "elsewhere" are making the trip. Open your social feed and it's a wall of live CES dispatches. It's a snapshot of the boom in Chinese hardware entrepreneurship.

According to CES's official count, 4,112 companies are exhibiting this year, and over 1,000 are from China.

"elsewhere" isn't going to give you the most comprehensive guide. Instead, we asked more than a dozen founders and investors on the ground to pick out 23 innovations that make you itch with curiosity. They may not be household names yet, but they'll make you say, "Wait, you can do that?"

This is also what the world is waiting to see from China: how will this generation of Chinese founders redefine hardware? Take this guide, and don't get lost tomorrow.

A consumer-grade exoskeleton robotics developer. The Hypershell Omega is designed for outdoor enthusiasts. Through an AI motion engine, the device senses the wearer's movement intent and provides up to 30kg of assistance, significantly reducing leg muscle strain during hiking, climbing, or running. Rumor has it they'll let 100 tech enthusiasts try the exoskeleton on-site.

A California-based innovative RV company whose founding team hails from Anker Innovations, focused on solving energy pain points in outdoor travel. Their exhibition highlight is a new RV integrating an intelligent power generation and energy management system.

An electric scooter brand. NAVEE's standout feature is a unique dual-folding system that compresses the frame to an extreme minimum, making it easy to stash in a car trunk.

A Shenzhen-based translation earphone company. Their products are said to offer high accuracy with translation latency under one second. Stop by to test the Timekettle W4 and see if you can hold a real-time conversation amid the roar of the exhibition hall.

U-Shaped Fully Automatic Toothbrush

An oral care innovator behind the world's first U-shaped fully automatic toothbrush, claiming to clean all tooth surfaces simultaneously in mere seconds.

The official pitch: enclosed design and vision algorithms enable automatic hovering and follow-shots.

Exhibiting the Rovar X3 intelligent outdoor companion — a wheeled pup that rolls across grass, gravel, and slopes, recognizes users at close range, and is built around the promise of "can go outside, actually useful."

Detecting Snoring and Sleep Apnea

Their main showcase is a home sleep monitoring and intervention device. Hypnuse offers a sleep apnea (OSA) monitoring solution closer to medical-grade standards, targeting snoring and nocturnal oxygen deprivation.

Headphones That Ease Anxiety

Their ZenoWELL brand is showing non-invasive neuromodulation earphones. Supposedly, specific soundwaves or electrical signals stimulate the vagus nerve, regulating autonomic nervous system balance to relieve anxiety and improve sleep quality.
