Apache SeaTunnel

Apache SeaTunnel is an open-source data integration tool that became the first Apache Top-Level Project led by Chinese developers, graduating from the Apache incubator in June 2023 after 18 months . Originally launched as Waterdrop in 2017 and renamed upon entering Apache incubation in December 2021, it evolved from a real-time data processing layer atop Spark and Flink into a standalone high-performance distributed integration platform with its own Zeta Engine . The tool supports 100+ data sources across databases, cloud services, and SaaS applications, handling both real-time CDC and batch synchronization at trillion-row scale . By mid-2023 the project had grown to roughly 250,000 lines of code with 200+ contributors and 5,000+ community members, deployed in production at thousands of companies spanning internet, finance, retail, and IoT sectors .
