Basis Origin (基点起源, English name AlignBase) is a Chinese industrial-AI startup founded by Dai Zonghong, former co-founder and AI Infra VP of 01.AI, and previously Huawei Cloud AI CTO and Alibaba DAMO Academy AI Infra director . First reported in September 2025 as building an "AI operating system for enterprises," it closed an angel round of over 100 million yuan backed by Unity Ventures, Innovation Works, Puhua Capital, CASSTAR, and others . Its core bet is what it calls an "omni-factor large model" — essentially a world model for industrial settings that digitally twins a factory's production process and self-simulates to find better operating plans, lifting key metrics like yield and output rather than replacing workers, in one case improving a critical indicator 2–3x and saving tens of millions of yuan annually .

The model has proven out commercially: per Unity Ventures' mid-2026 reporting, after an early stretch when skeptics called B2B customization "unsexy," the company landed tens of millions of yuan in orders, doubled order count, saw contract value jump by an order of magnitude, and expanded into 10+ industries including metallurgy, chemicals, precision manufacturing, semiconductors, and textiles . It then raised three rounds totaling several hundred million yuan within six months, from investors including SinoSci Capital, Shanghai Semiconductor Industry Investment, and 建投投资 .
