Botree Cycling

Botree Cycling (博萃循环) is a Suzhou-based battery recycling company founded in May 2019, providing end-to-end solutions for critical battery material circularity spanning pretreatment, metal extraction, separation and purification, and material regeneration . Its founder Lin Xiao previously served as a researcher at the Chinese Academy of Sciences' Institute of Process Engineering, with expertise in critical metal separation and green battery material manufacturing, and is a recipient of the State Technological Invention Award .

The company has expanded internationally, operating across more than ten countries in Asia-Pacific, Europe, North America and the Middle East, and has executed over 60 projects for energy-sector Fortune 500 companies and leading battery and energy firms . In Lin's view, while China represents the largest and most concentrated battery recycling market globally, successful domestic models cannot be directly replicated abroad due to divergent cost structures and regulatory environments—whereas China optimizes for recovery rates given high feedstock costs, European operations face tighter environmental standards and higher energy and labor costs .

BlueRun Ventures was the sole investor in Botree Cycling's Pre-A round, and the company has since raised through Series B, including a recent extension of tens of millions of RMB in mid-2025 led by Taiping Sci-Tech Innovation Fund with total Series B funding exceeding RMB 100 million .
