Boyin Bio

Boyin Bio (渤因生物) is a Shanghai-based gene therapy company founded in 2020 by Pan Yukun (潘雨堃), a Yale PhD, together with veteran Chinese gene therapy scientists. The company develops non-viral vector gene therapies, targeting what FreeS Fund calls the field's three core pain points: inability to redose, limited drug-loading capacity, and high production costs .

Its technical stack spans three platforms—end-free DNA preparation, LNP in vivo cell-type-targeted delivery, and in vivo electroporation/mechanical transfection delivery—with IP protection filed domestically and abroad. The pipeline focuses on liver, eye, muscle, bladder and blood cell delivery, with specific programs for sarcopenia in the elderly, bladder cancer and hemophilia A .

FreeS Fund (峰瑞资本) led Boyin's angel round in 2020 and re-upped in a subsequent angel+ round of tens of millions of RMB closed in 2025, joined by Zhangjiang Life Health Industry Incubation Angel Fund and the founder's personal capital .
