Liu, previously a founder of Only Education (昂立教育), left after its 2014 listing to start Changingedu, positioning it as a national platform for premium one-on-one tutoring delivered both online and at students' homes . FreeS Fund invested in the company and participated in its Series D round in 2017 , listing it among consumer portfolio bets alongside Three Squirrels and Uber Global . By early 2018, the company had settled on a "home classroom" service model , and Liu described a 2017 team trek through the Gobi Desert as a defining moment for building team cohesion .
