Chao Can Shu

Chao Can Shu (超参数科技, also known as Hyperparameter) is a Chinese AI company founded in early 2019 by Liu Yongsheng (刘永升), formerly general manager of Tencent AI Lab and a T4 technical expert . The company focuses on game AI and "living AI" systems, and has disclosed partnerships such as developing "Orion α," a 3D survival game AI with Seasun .

The company has raised multiple funding rounds, including a $30 million Series A+ in January 2021 and a $100 million Series B in January 2022 led by Sequoia China (红杉中国) . Its investors include 5Y Capital, Gaorong Ventures, and Morningside Capital (晨兴资本) . 5Y Capital has supported the company continuously since its founding .

In a 2023 interview, Oasis Capital noted that while a few game AI companies including Chao Can Shu were doing exploratory work, the real-world impact and commercial value of game AI remained limited at that time .
