Coolcore

Coolcore (酷睿程, also known as CARIZON) is a joint venture between Horizon Robotics and CARIAD, the software unit of Volkswagen Group, established in October 2022 . Headquartered in Beijing, the company was planned to recruit over 300 employees by end of 2023 . It integrates Horizon Robotics' hardware-software capabilities with CARIAD's expertise in intelligent vehicle body and software system integration to develop full-stack computing solutions for advanced driver assistance and autonomous driving systems for Volkswagen Group . As of 2024, Horizon Robotics was licensing ADAS and autonomous driving algorithms and software to Coolcore, with licensing revenue from the joint venture reaching 351 million yuan in the first half of 2024—about 37% of Horizon's total revenue for that period . The partnership was described by 暗涌Waves as one of the key strategic investor relationships for Horizon Robotics alongside its customer base .
