DeepWise

DeepWise (深度原理科技 / Deep Principle) is an AI-for-chemistry startup founded in 2024 by MIT alumni, with Haojun Jia as CEO and Chenru Duan as CTO . The company applies artificial intelligence, quantum chemistry, and high-throughput experimentation to accelerate materials science R&D .

Linear Capital led its nearly $10 million seed round in mid-2024, with participation from Zhenzhi Venture Capital, Taihill Venture, and strategic investors XtalPi and DP Technology . Hillhouse later led a seed+ round in October 2024 , and by March 2025 the company had raised a nine-figure RMB Pre-A round with Linear Capital increasing its stake alongside Qigao Capital . As of early 2026, cumulative funding had reached several hundred million RMB across multiple rounds .

The company has secured orders from leading enterprises in new materials, new energy, and pharmaceuticals within its first year of operation . In May 2026 it launched SciClaw, an AI research co-worker product for scientific exploration targeting universities and enterprise R&D teams . DeepWise has also established strategic partnerships with XtalPi and DP Technology in the AI4S space , and in January 2026 co-led with OpenAI the release of a benchmark for large language models in science .
