Eric Xu

Eric Xu (徐威) is the co-founder and CTO of Manifold Tech (留形科技), a company building perception hardware for embodied AI. He earned his PhD at the University of Hong Kong's MaRS Lab, where he was the first author of FAST-LIO, and co-founded Manifold Tech with labmate Aaron Qin (秦佑铭) in 2022 — the two first met in HKU's Huang Kejing building and spent their lab days testing algorithms and "crashing drones," per ZhenFund's Z Talk interview with the founding team. In that interview Xu spoke for the company's technical side, noting its first-generation device — multiple sensor parts assembled into one unit — sold for roughly 70–80k RMB, and ZhenFund reports the product reached profitability within three months of launch.
