Garen Semiconductor

Garen Semiconductor (镓仁半导体) is a Chinese semiconductor materials company focused on gallium oxide (β-Ga₂O₃) substrates for power electronics applications. Per BlueRun Ventures, it raised a tens-of-millions RMB angel round led by the fund in April 2023, with capital directed toward team-building and R&D of novel gallium oxide substrate methods plus pilot line development . By April 2024, it closed a nearly RMB 100 million Pre-A round led by Jiuzhi Capital with participation from Puhua Capital, and simultaneously announced a strategic partnership with Bank of Hangzhou . The company has also achieved technical milestones: as of early 2024, it became the first Chinese industrial firm to master 6-inch gallium oxide single-crystal substrate preparation, using an independently developed casting method in collaboration with Zhejiang University's Hangzhou International Science and Innovation Center . BlueRun Ventures, its angel lead, has cited domestic new-energy vehicles and new-type power systems as key demand drivers for the technology .
