Haichang Biotech is a Chinese biotech company specializing in nucleic acid drug delivery technology and complex injectable formulations, with proprietary platforms including QTsome® that have reportedly broken through international patent barriers in nucleic acid delivery . Founded by Dr. Zhao Xiaobin, the company was designated a national-level "little giant" enterprise and raised nearly 500 million yuan in a Series C round in August 2025 led by SDIC Venture Capital (Guangdong), with participation from JianXin Investment, Songshan Lake Venture Capital, Heda Financial Services, and Kexing Pharmaceutical, forming what the company described as a "three-dimensional capital matrix" combining state capital leadership, local industrial capital, and industry chain co-construction . Gaorong Ventures, which joined Haichang's Series B in 2021, also participated .

The company's pipeline spans oncology, metabolic diseases, pain management, and infectious diseases. Its lead programs include HC0301, a small nucleic acid drug for primary liver cancer now in international multicenter Phase II trials across China (including Hong Kong) and the US, described as one of the most advanced pipelines globally in small nucleic acid tumor precision therapy; and HC016, a next-generation TLR9 immune agonist using QTsome® lipid nanoparticle delivery, which has secured IND approvals in both China and the US and entered Phase I with best-in-class potential . Haichang also has multiple potential first-in-class nucleic acid drug candidates and in vivo cell editing therapies in development .

On the complex injectables side, its key product—paclitaxel for injection (albumin-bound)—has been approved in nearly 40 countries and regions including China, the EU, the UK, and Peru, with dual manufacturing sites operated by China Resources Double-Crane Tiandong Pharmaceutical and Kexing Pharmaceutical both passing EU cGMP certification . The Series C proceeds are earmarked for advancing nucleic acid drug pipelines, developing novel extrahepatic delivery systems, and accelerating production base and capacity construction .
