Hairen Tan

Hairen Tan is a professor at Nanjing University and the chairman of Renshine Solar (仁烁光能), a perovskite solar cell company. Per Yunqi Capital's reporting, he has worked in perovskite battery research for years and saw academic research shifting toward industrial needs, particularly in large-area manufacturing . In January 2023, Renshine Solar under his leadership set a world record of 29.0% efficiency with all-perovskite tandem cells, which Tan cited as proof that the tandem path could far exceed single-junction perovskite efficiency . The company later closed a Series A funding round in the hundreds of millions of RMB, and in early 2024 Tan introduced a 150MW production line that the company had fully self-designed, incorporating over 50 core patents .
