Helixon

Helixon, also known as 华深智药 and more recently Earendil Labs, is a Chinese biotech company applying AI to drug discovery. Founded in June 2021 , it raised a nearly 500 million yuan Series A led by 5Y Capital in June 2022, with follow-on investors including Gaorong Capital and Hillhouse . By July 2022 it had developed OmegaFold, an algorithm capable of predicting 3D protein structures from single sequences, which 5Y Capital described at the time as a milestone in computational biology . In March 2026, the company closed a $787 million financing round led by Dimension Capital, DST Global and Hillhouse Capital, which 5Y Capital reported as a new biotech fundraising record for that year . 5Y Capital investor Shi Yunfeng, in a statement accompanying that round, called Helixon "one of 5Y's most resolute bets in the AI for Science direction," noting that founder Peng Jian's team had built "the highest talent density I've seen at the intersection of AI and life sciences" and an efficient closed loop of algorithm-experiment mutual validation .
