Hongyang Li

Hongyang Li is a founder and academic in embodied intelligence and humanoid robotics. He founded Yuan Ce Future (源策未来), which raised hundreds of millions of RMB in Series A funding in mid-2026 with ambitions to become "the OpenAI of the humanoid robot era" . At the time, he held a joint appointment as assistant professor at the University of Hong Kong and assistant dean of its School of Computing and Data Science, while also serving as a mentor at the Shanghai Innovation Institute . The funding round was backed by ZhenFund as an angel project, with additional coverage from Gaorong Ventures and 5Y Capital .
