LaiMang Bio

LaiMang Bio (莱芒生物, also known as Leman Biotech) is a Shenzhen-based biotech company developing novel tumor immunotherapies at the intersection of immune-metabolic reprogramming and AI. Founded in July 2021 by a team from EPFL led by Professor Tang Li, with strategic partner XtalPi , the company formally began operations in February 2022 . Its core technology, Meta 10, addresses T-cell exhaustion—a key bottleneck in solid tumor treatment—with findings published in *Nature Immunology* (2021) and *Nature Biotechnology* (2024) . The platform has yielded three drug pipelines: metabolic-reprogramming biologics, anti-exhaustion cell therapies, and super-cytokine drugs .

On the funding side, LaiMang closed a nearly RMB 100 million angel round in January 2022 led by Tiantu Capital, with 5Y Capital and XtalPi as co-investors . By June 2024, it had raised an additional RMB 50 million across angel+ and angel++ rounds, bringing total angel funding and grants to roughly RMB 150 million; existing backers Tiantu and XtalPi reinvested, joined by new shareholders including Fuhui Venture Capital and Yunfan Technology Investment . The proceeds are directed toward IND filings and clinical advancement of its metabolic-enhanced CAR-T programs for solid tumors .
