LightStandard (光本位) is a Chinese photonic computing startup developing silicon-photonics-based processing-in-memory chips, combining storage and computation in a single unit using phase-change materials to achieve smaller cell size and lower power consumption . FreeS Fund (峰瑞资本) was an early backer, making an initial investment in 2022 and following on through subsequent rounds . The company raised a near-RMB 100 million angel+ round in July 2024 with FreeS Fund participating , then closed a funding led by Jinqiu Fund in December 2024 with follow-on from existing shareholders including Xiaomiao Langcheng and Zhongying Ventures . Just six months later, in June 2025, it announced another round led by Dunhong Capital with participation from state-backed funds including Shanghai Zhangjiang Science & Technology Venture Capital , with Zhongying Ventures adding again . Yunqi Capital also appears as an early investor . The company's two co-founders have known each other since middle school .
